Got a new one? Add it here! Nike and Wilson really don't count, as those come with the territory. But, to be complete, so far we have:

Nike---Wilson---Evian---Porsche---Tiffany---Dior---Vodaphone---British Airways----and...HSBC!

Surprised she hasn't been approached by an affordable luxury brand like Coach yet. Maybe she'll go for something more higher end like Chanel. Her portfolio seems to lean that way...

Don't her sponsors realize she needs to be on tv playing tennis to sell stuff? Maybe she has commercials all over the UK but here it is nothing but crickets, like her game lately.

Her price must be dropping quickly.

She won the US Open and looks good in pictures/video with whatever product. Thats enough for 99% of corporations.

Plus Im sure she has a hundred billion followers on social media, plus is fluent in Mandarin so that doesn't hurt either.

The press here will also hype her no matter what.

It is a god damn shame she’s getting these stinking sponsorships as a one slam wonder where as a genuine talented woman who’s been massively successful like Swiatek gets a tenth of the attention. Raducanu will never amount to anything.

The uncomfortable truth is that the 4 tennis players with the most lucrative sponsorships (Federer, Osaka, Serena, Raducanu) are hardly even professional tennis players.

No one actually watches the tournaments. This sport is dying in viewership and interest.

so for sponsors, it’s all about just being viewed as a successful tennis player. It isn’t even important whether you actively are a successful player or not. All 4 live off past victories and media savvy.

This principle applies to a lot of the world.

I still think that Emma will have a lot to say on the tennis court in the future, but if she does decide to go down another route, then who can blame her?

At a rough estimate, approximately 0% of TTW posters have had a multinational corporation approaching them with a lucrative sponsorship offer.

You just sound churlish and curmudgeonly by targeting your invective towards Emma.

Yeah, she has earned millions already. Emma could retire in 2025 or so with all the money she has earned, and spend her best years partying, traveling, dating, focusing on her hobbies, etc. In general, she would be the master of her own time, instead of spending hours hitting a racquet. Good philosophy of life. She wouldn't be a slave of the system.

Barty did it.

This is the big thing.

Being a tennis pro isn't going to necessarily be the number one priority, if you have a wealth of alternative avenues open up before you.

As hard as Emma will try to persevere with her tennis career, it's only human nature to subconsciously lose a bit of that ''drive'' when you have other options to fall back on.

All that being said, Emma does come as very dedicated and committed to her tennis career, so I'm hopeful that she will still be a force for the next few years, if she can shake off some of her injury problems.

Good point, I forgot about her China connection and social media following.

Stupidly I was thinking like a tennis fan - how many people actually tune it to see her lose/retire 1st round on Tennis Channel? Obviously that's irrelevant these days.

Unfortunately, it's only natural that sports like tennis will ''die'', now that people have a million other entertainment options at the touch of a button.

That's a crazy train of thought.
I enjoy playing tennis more than watching it as entertainment!

But what prompted you to start playing and/or watching tennis?

If you'd been born in the 1990s/2000s, growing up with the internet casually at hand, do you think that your interest in tennis would be the same?

I can't say. But let's just put it this way.
I am not into internet/phone entertainment/games/videos etc.
So those forms of entertainment are not luring me away from anything.

If I grew up with the internet, from the start, I am sure I would have been introduced to
the same sport activities I was introduced to prior to the internet.

If Raducanu cant get some good results soon, she'll be ranked in the 80s after the US Open, and it will be real tough for tourneys to market her, if she has to play qualifying again just to get in the main draw

The same here.

But I can't honestly pretend that my introduction to tennis would have necessarily happened if I had grown up in the internet age.

Kids where I am are exposed to WAY more activities than when I was a kid.

The problem with the internet is that it distracts from achieving mastery in those activities.

There are many sports that are more enjoyable to play than to watch, and are thus much less popular than tennis as an entertainment. I don’t think tennis would die but I definitely can see the interest of the spectators waning after the big3. As for Raducanu, I don’t think she needs to win more slams to stay relevant. What’s important is to keep on amassing points to stay in the top 10, something that she doesn’t seem to be able to do at the moment.

The hype is absurd. Regardless of how her career goes, she will not be hurting for cash anytime soon.
