Has anyone ever being to this? Any thoughts?

I am thinking of going on the weekly adult course (it says all levels welcome but a bit worried as I am only playing 3 years)....

I am going for the experience also (not just too improve my tennis)

Going to speak to people at my local tennis club aswell about it but just wondering if anyone here had ever being?

Well I’m pretty sure he will be in North America playing his own tennis the time I am thinking of going!

It is worth knowing before booking a trip that the academy's declared philosophy is tennis is best developed on hard courts. Therefore it would seem likely most of the tennis will be on them.

No I have never being there.....We don't have many clay courts in Ireland!!

I am very much an amateur player really - only playing 3 years and 34 years of age - I am going more for the all round experience....I'd like to just maybe speak to someone who has gone...My biggest concern is looking like an idiot surrounded by people who are playing the game for years!

I am also considering it, as a family vacation to a neat part of the world.

It looks like the program is intense if you take the 1-week. The details on the training indicate that you had best be in good shape. The cost is actually not so bad considering what you get. I think the experience overall would be a good one and the intensity of the training would far out-weigh anything you could get by just taking lessons locally.

That is a bizarre detail. When I played a tournament there last year it seemed as if everyone was treating the clay courts as part of the Academy. The tournament was played only on the clay courts but plenty of academy students were using the courts as well. And the tournament schedule was influenced by the Academy's needs regarding use of the clay courts. What's odd is that the courts are inside the fence that surrounds the academy, so there's no delineation between the Academy courts and the council (clay) courts. I wonder if the Academy has a land lease with the council such that the Academy pays rent to the council but has control over the courts. It's hard to imagine the Academy building those clay courts and not having control over them, but stranger things have happened.
