Whose got the coolest personality. Who would you go for a drink with and who would you avoid like the plague, if they lived in your neighbourhood?

Federer; very humble, gracious man, lives a clean, drama free life. Some people believe his nice personality is all an act though. 4/5

Nadal; totally Driven in pursuit of his goals without being arrogant, the sort of ambitious man that women would totally fall for. His superstitions are annoying though, no? 4/5

Djokovic; somewhat arrogant and does strange things like eat grass or hire weird mental gurus. His antics smack of attention seeking. Has a win at any cost mentality with his medical timeouts. 2/5

Murray; pretty boring in the media, he does however speak his mind and has a deadpan, British sense of humor. Not unlike his coach Lendl. 3/5

Zverev; the sort of guy who would brag at the pub how much he lifted at the gym today. "I put on 20 lbs of muscle in a year!!" Too full of himself, needs to mature. 2/5

Cilic; quiet, unassuming, does his job without fuss. Someone most people would get on with. 3/5

Thiem; doesn't seem to have any personality at all, acts like Tiger Woods without the women. Too media trained, Not someone the average Joe can relate to. 1/5

Wawrinka; Cheated on his ex wife, indicating a dishonest man. Can be somewhat bratty on the court too, doesn't seem the nicest person. 2/5

Dimitrov; The ladies man, he must be quite a smooth charmer. Got with Sharapova so probably quite shallow, but has admitted he's made mistakes so may be maturing. Just don't let him near your woman. 3/5

Kyrgios; the opposite of Thiem, always has something to say, generates controversy wherever he goes. A love him or hate him marmite sort of person, he'd probably be hilarious down a pub. 3/5

Federer would be my favourite person to hang out with :)
 
Nadal because he is the one great who is actually humble on and off the court.

I personally think Murray is pretty cool off the court too.
 
If I had a choice I'd hang out with these two. :cool:

I would have said Marat Safin by a long shot, but he's retired, so from the current players I would pick Federer only because I'm his fan and would love to 'pick his brain', but if I'm after a good night out, I would pick Feliciano Lopez.

The one I would avoid like the plague: Bernie!
 
All players: - Everything is cool when I winning, but when I lost it's because some reason. I was tired, he was lucky,I was injured, One win doesn't mean anything...
 
I'm not that big a Djokovic fan but his look and reaction when his wife started to berate him in his practice video (when she didn't realize the tape was running) was just like mine would be (and has been). Gave me some appreciation for him amidst all the on court acts that grate on me (the outpouring heart being Exhibit A).

Some question Fed's sincerity, and certainly he is media and sponsor savvy and aware, but he seems the same as before he became a success. It would be a real hassle to fake all the things he does if it wasn't genuine.

Interesting.
Keep in mind our assessments are just from their public appearances. I'm sure these guys are just people like you and me, and this judgment is just for fun, knowing that these guys are much more accomplished and decorated than me on my phone judging.
My assessment:
Federer: very nice and classy guy, only downside is that sometimes he can be interpreted by people as fake. 5/5
Nadal: Driven and motivated, but incredibly humble. Great ambassador for today's sport. Only downside is that he can be seen as "too safe" or boring. 5/5
Djokovic: Greatest personality of the big guys. Classy and considerate in both victory and defeat, also knows how to be hysterically funny in an inoffensive way. Only drawback is that his humor can be cringy at times. 6/5
Murray: boring at first glance (press conferences) but has a personality underneath. Has a cool British sense of humor. 4/5
Roddick: No words needed 5/5
Wawrinka: Doesn't take sh*t like the big 3, he will speak what's on his mind. Only drawback is that he curses in front of crowds a lot (this is tennis, although it does make him look more genuine) 3/5
Del Potro: Very lovable guy, gentle giant. Class act. 4/5
Kyrgios: probably cool to hang out with, but on court he's not very pleasant. Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend. 1/5
 
I bet "the worm" has some serious anecdotal charm.
He isn't the biggest playboy on the ATP tour just for his looks, thats fo sho.

Here's my personal take....

Fed: No. I'm not sure he could let down his guard enough to actually let me get to know him. He's spent his entire adult life putting on the "professional" air. (and I don't mean faking, it just is a fact of life if you're the GOAT)
Rafa: No. I'm just not sure we would relate across the table with a pint. He's got secrets and it would just be awkward.
Djoko: No. Funny guy, but he just can't truly relate to people. And, he's just a bit too weird.
Murray: Yes. I'm not a massive fan of his on the tennis side, but I think he'd be a blast and tell it like it is in person. Count me in.
Stan: Not likely but I'd love to just sit and listen to his lovely accent. ;)
Any of the top American players: No. Just no. (only one, and not exactly a "top" player, would be Tiafoe. I think he'd be genuine and funny. Yup, I could have a beer with him.)
Deliciano: Yes. I could just gaze across the table and listen to his accent. (Did I say that I am female?)
Zverev:. Absolutely not. Arrogant and full of himself. Nothing of interest to talk about, except perhaps his older brother.
Krygios: Sure. Why not? I think the guy has many personal problems (and is an arrogant jerk on court sometimes because of it) but I think he would want to be nice away from tennis one on one. I think he would bring out my mothering instinct! I would be trying to "fix" him with empathy but a strong message.
Thiem: No. I think that introverts get a bum rap, but I just don't get a sense that there is much depth there for an intellectual discussion. I could be wrong. You never know with introverts.
Cilic: Perhaps. I'm kind of curious about this guy. He's got that Balkan stoicism about him, but I bet there's a lot more there behind the mask. His fan base would be much larger if he let fans "in".
Nishikori: I wouldn't mind chatting with him over sake about what it's like to be a superstar in Japan. I'd be fascinated with the cultural aspect.
Raonic: Probably not, but I definitely wouldn't turn it down if the opportunity presented itself. He's an intellectual who ultimately wants to work in the investment world. We'd have lots to talk about. I generally can relate more to empathetic people, but I think Milos gets too harshly judged because of his "stiff" personality.
Delpo: Sure! I visited his fair country and am fascinated by it...and, of course he just seems like a wonderful people person. Don't forget the Argentinian wine!
Shapovalov: Yes. I don't think he's a particularly "deep" person and he is still so young, but I'd be interested in hearing about how he is trying to keep a level head after such a rapid surge in tennis celebrity. Again, that mothering instinct would mean that I would like to help. (boy, I really sound pathetic, don't I???)


ETA: Just realized that I didn't mention Dimi. But, I guess that explains my view there, in and of itself.

It's hilarious how Fedhate transfers to Mirka due to resenting support of her own husband. Only Fedhaters think Federer's personality is fake because deep down ****s don't want anybody to like him, even his own wife and resent his popularity. By the way, Federer is going to win the fan favorite, sportsmanship award and comeback award. Cheers.
 
Great thread. Too tough to quantify. I feel like i have grown up around these people.

Three very different dinner parties.

1. Vitas, Goran, Mac, Nolé, Guga, Rafter, Newcombe, Roddick, and Noah.
2. RF, Pete, Ashe, borg, Nastase, Pancho Gonzales, Rod Laver, Hoad, Cashy, and Jimmy.
3. rafael, Vilas, andre, boris, lendl, Edberg, mats, Muzzer, Stan and Del Potro.

Masters, tbd. But automatic entries are nastase, goran, guga, mac, and RF.

Sounds like Kyrgios or Shapo would be your kind of man, bringing out that motherly instinct :D
