Nice strokes. Just wondering, what is your racquet and setup? I like the thumping sound. I know it's because you make solid contact all the time, but still I like the sound and I'd like to know. Thanks.

I wouldn't mine seeing a little more action. Set the ball machine oscillation wider and increase the interval. Make the interval around 65.

With the correct oscillation set, this will give you a good workout and see how you strike the ball while on the move.

Good looking strokes, but for your volleys you should meet the ball out in front a bit more and cross over with your left foot (it's not like I do it all the time but it's good practice, lol). Here you'd probably be a 4.5. I'd have to see you play though. But from your strokes you could compete well with the 4.5's in this area.

That's what was on the tip of my tounge. His footwork on the backhand is pretty sound, but the footwork when he hits a forehand is kind of strange for some reason.

Your balancing on the forehand seems off to me for some reason, or maybe it's just me. You could possibly rotate a little more, and add some more topspin to your shots.

I think the weird thing may be the leg kick after he hits. He does it on the backhand too.

that's what i thought as well...you're making some solid shots, but all the balls are coming to you... so like the other poster said, we'd have to see you hitting balls on the run

That's what I was thinking. The kicking thing really has to go. Unless you are really pushing foward and up alot, your legs should be soundly planted onto the ground. You lose alot of balance by only hitting a forehand on one leg :)

4.0

I think a solid 4.5 would beat your pretty easily but that's just my opinion. Nice looking backhand. Your feet are a too far apart during the ready position.

gah ok just look at your forehand.

No offense but your not really hitting it. Your more dragging the racquet across. With a full body motion that forehand could be deadly. All shots in tennis recquire the whole body but your forehand isnt using yourbody to full potential.

You backhand it ok though, >< i love the sound of you striking it too :D

You hit just like an ex-college player here - he's a tall guy, moves around sort of slowly but crushes the ball. He's a 5.0 anyway. I sort of move like a spaz (fast, but not fluid), so it helps me to watch players like this. I calm down a little and my movement becomes more efficient, not spastic, haha.

Ground strokes look OK. You swing too much on your volleys. Hard to rate your playing level when every ball is coming right at you, with the same pace and depth. Nice video! Thanks for sharing!

4.0ish with machine fed balls. Hard to say when hitting on the run. You have a very wide stance when waiting for the ball but that is better than too narrow of a stance. You seem to hit the ball fairly solidly and aggressively. I would like to play you as it should be a decent match.

The way the balls are being fed, a 5.0 would only miss probably 1 out of every 15 balls or so, and they should be able to hit the ball pretty hard and into the corners.

Keep playing. You have a solid foundation.
