I have a Dunlop Hotmelt 200G 95" MID+ and it is starting to age. The paint is chipped and is starting to fade. I want to find a replacement for the 200G. Should i buy a racket with similar specs or get another one from the classifieds?

Here are the specs.
  • Power (USRSA index): 1790
  • Swingweight: 314
  • Headsize: 95
  • Flex: 60
  • Weight: 335
  • Length: 27
  • Balance: 32.75

I like the specs on this racket. It is perfect. The weight and balance suit me. Please recommend a replacement for me.

You can still find these frames on the internet (auction site, TW classified, etc.) if you look hard enough AND have patience. You also demo the new Aerogel 200 4D frame to see if you like it or not.

As a long time user of HM 200G.I found the AG and AG 4d are a lot stiffer than the HM and they have more SW.

I have tried many racquets and nothing came close with HM until I got my hand on a Fischer M pro no 1.

It has almost the same SW and balance as the HM.The flex is also very close.I had no trouble adjusting to a Fischer.

The only different is Fischer has less power and less static weight(just my feeling ,on the paper they have the same weight) compare to the HM.I am thinking about adding some lead to make it come close to the HM.

The HM 200G is one of those frames that I'll bet Dunlop could sell by the boatload if they reissued it again today. That was the first racquet with more flex that I'd tried after using my 6.1 Classics for a long stretch and it was a really sweet ride. I just didn't keep it around because it had a tiny grip and I didn't do a great job at building it up.

Actually, the TW edition of the Donnay Pro One might compare nicely with that Dunlop (Dunlop actually built it I think). Some of the more flexible Prince frames might be worth a look, too.

Nice! I saw a young girl hitting with that the other day, and I thought it might be the old HM300 (she looked like she was 8). I'm guessing her dad was a tennis guy and gave her that frame to use.

I really like the paintjob :D

That was a great stick. I almost think the 100 might be your first stop before the 200, but the string pattern is much different.

Try 'em all. You can't go wrong with Dunlop. Good luck.

I've never hit with the 200G, but if it plays anything like the 300G I'd try to get my hands on a few more. The 300G is just a sweet frame, nothing even compares to my custom APDC's like the 300G does.
