Roddick always does better on odd years

I've been thinking about this but Roddick has done a lot better on odd years such as:

2003: us open victory, aussie open semi, and ended number one that year

2005: aussie open semi again, wimbly final and was no.2 for half of the year

2007: another aussie open semi

2009: aussie open semi, wimbly final and still hasn't finished yet.

dont you think that's peculiar that roddick does quite well inodd years but in even years he does'nt play as well

If your just looking at Grand Slams, he made the 2006 US Open Final, which is better than his 2007 result according to what you have posted.

I don't see it. Roddick was as good in 04 and 06 as he was in 05 and 07 respectively.

Roddicks play oddly enough has distinct patters. Here is one big one: At the USO he makes a final every 3 years. In 2000 he won the juniors. In 03 he won the big boy title, in 06 he lost to Fed in the final. So if history repeats itself hell make at least the F this year

Also there his his AO pattern where he makes the SF on the odd years, and on the ven years does one worse than before. Also every year he makes the SF at the AO hes made the SF at Wimby(except at Wimby 07 when he was 1 hold away)

well, - who in the top 10 does sampras have a winning record on H2H, he wouldn't survive in the modern era

Good one... LOL..

Lets see what Roddick is in doing in his early 30s against the next generation of players alright.

Prime Pete would have no problem against these guys today..

And how quickly we forget the whooping Pete gave King Fraud at the USO 2002. Where was Roddick that day?

Even Becker told A-Fraud to get the hell out of the stadium, he was getting wholloped so bad

Roddick did have a straight sets win over Sampras in Miami, a pretty big event, when Pete was 29 and Roddick was only 18. I doubt you can seriously argue an 18 year old is more prime than a 29 year old in mens tennis. Of course I am not saying Roddick is anywhere as great as Pete Sampras, one of the greatest players of all time, but he isnt the hapless chump you make him out to be.

I think Roddick had a foot injury during that match.

man every thread has to turn into a goat discussion god hatemachine stop throwing stupid cheap dumb sampras insults >.> I agree actually game Roddick has so many deep runs with nothing to show. Eventually you think he would be able to once get his act together and beat Fed to take a slam. Fed played absolutely awful at points in US Open 2006 and Wimbledon 2009 and he still could not do it. I don't care if awful Fed is equal to Good Roddick it would have been nice to see Roddick maybe make more of an effort. Push Fed. He just can't play 3 good sets in a row against Fed in a slam and frankly I am sick of the he faced the best player ever excuse. No he BLEW IT. Roddick would probably fail just as much against Sampras, Agassi, Becker, Borg, Lendl, Mac, Edberg and so on because he just does not seem to be able to play 3 strong sets in a row.

Roddick does do pretty well overall that's just sheer coincidence though. He really should have more than just 1 slam.
