I don't believe really.
What is the hype of this racket lately!

If he decides to use it regularly, I expect he’ll give it the **** carbon-fiber-blackout he put on his PD+.

Clearly the old man isn't strong enough to lift his old boomstick anymore.

Sad times. Soon he'll be using a 10oz 110in with the rest of the seniors before making his way over to the shuffleboard court.
And watch that beautiful service motion go away...

You found hyper G thát stiff?
I don’t think it’s that stiff, especially with a thinner gauge and lower tension. I go around 47 for most polys and that helps with stiffness, though some polys like rpm blast remain stiff no matter how low you go unless you are like 20 lbs.

Apples to apples, same guage and tension, Hyper G will always be considerably softer feeling than RPM Blast. I really don't find it harsh in new PA at all. In fact I quite liked it. Way worse setups out there, to be honest.

Rpm blast for me isn’t hard on my arm, I think it’s because of the coating it slides so easily. But my backhand is a little more flat sometimes so I get some stiff feeling, but I’m in a sort of journey to find a poly that works for me.

A PA with fb hyper g strung at ~60 (which is his avg tension when he was on tour) seems like an awfully stiff combo to me?

Sure good point, but he played with his Swirly PD+ paint jobbed over the years that had stiffness of 70+. The new PA is about 67 and more comfortable/muted than those. For a guy like Roddick who likes a tight strung setup I don't think this is insanely stiff..

Stil hate the fact he was a Lacoste guy .should of stuck with Reebok . He’s a Reebok Sorta guy with a Reebok game . Lacoste nah..
Reebok is meh, nice shoe deal but they went under fast, sad to see. Nike and Adidas have almost monopolized the next gen, meaning that’s almost all we will see for the next decade or so.

No Reebok never was "meh". They had great gear back then and some of their shoe designs and tech, even today, are pretty dope.. if you're into running check out their Floatride lines for ultra lightweight cushioning and responsive feedback..

Reebok still exists today btw, just as a subsidiary of Adidas (since 2005).. the product quality remains far better than what you get from some big names, Puma & Sketchers for example..they are just out of the tennis game which is a shame..

Yeah to be true I did like some of their shoes back in the day and . In the early 80’s to mid 80’s Reebok also had some sweet cotton polos that mecir, Chang, mandilikova, and others rocked very successfully.. by the time roddick came round they changed up the logo , lost the font and boxed in the stripes , bad move as the Reebok font is what really makes the logo stand out up and proud . If you get a chance to go back and look at the Reebok digs they put him in they were. Very .. mmmm . Basic . Kinda cheapy.. but I’m biased too cuz I never liked him . And after I met him briefly the deal was sealed .
But I wil and must say his rackets that he plays with are carbon dipped and they look super sharp . They use an automotive like lacquer when they spray the clear coat and they shine like crazy . Beautiful really . I wish manufacturers would bring back the super shiny lacquered look . Again I’m 45 no 46 . So I’m old and don’t understand what’s cool what so ever .

Agree, a lot of the tennis gear was great. They have some absolutely iconic men's and women's kits. Who was the last tennis player wearing Reebok? Maybe Almagro?

I liked a lot of the aggressively styled gear they did in the late 90s / early 2000s, just not the visors and trucker style hats.

Sad to see the direction they have gone in now in terms of the designs of their performance stuff. A lot of it seems to be aimed at the CrossFit crowd now and has an Under Armour style look to it. Their lifestyle lines look great, though.

Roddick was playing with the PA in the Champions Series events late last year and early this year. There's probably footage on youtube. In somewhat related news, Mardy Fish has played multiple Babolat racquets in the Champions events. He started with a blacked out APD, moved to a Pure Strike Project 17 and most recently a Pure Drive VS.

Babolat just produces the best rackets in the world for recreational (35+) players to play competitively. That includes Champions Events.

Reebok was the **** in the 90s

Pump
Hexalite
The Preseason line

They really had their own style and it stood up well to Nike and Adidas

The pumps and the figjams were the two shoes I remember most clearly. The trucker hats that matched the NYC inspired clothing Roddick wore were iconic.

What makes you believe this?
I noted - if really play competitively. Otherwise I would use some racket with smooth and classic feel like i.Prestige Mid. But I need more juice and forgiveness while playing matches. Babolat knows hpw to make such a weapon

What's so sad is that we all knew he'd be over if he lost the serve. To have such a serve at what is now probably an average height on the ATP. I worried that one day he might not have a good quality of life.. throwing it out and suffering a lot of pain as he ages. I forget that he isn't really that old.. A lot older still going at it on the pro tour.

Maybe he was having fun.. maybe a sponsored event. I remember such an event when all the WTA were hitting with Pure Drives with kids in Asia, I think.

I figured he'd keep the Aero paint to give Babolat a big FU for not endorsing him on the PD anymore.
But I guess that would be a bit of a counter to what he hopes to achieve with them lol.

Ok, make your point... take out the stencil but ....you're really going to black it out. What a flake. I never liked this guy, really.
I've never seen someone get so angry and act like a baby on court solely to just be seen like a bad@** - Mr. Roddick, a Mcenroe you are not/were not.

No American man has won a slam since. So I guess his credibility kinda has to be respected, still. Dang it.

I’ve done that to a few of my rackets as well . Its called hydro dip . You can choose many patterns roddick used a carbon graphite dip pattern .
It’s awesome and it looks super cool up close and it doesn’t add hardly any weight to the frame
