That's two streaks, the most recent of which he broke in 2011. Is he not into that sort of thing anymore?

I guess everyone sucks so much these days there are no streaks to break...

Nadal and Djokovic like ending them too since they ended two of Federer's greatest streaks. 65 consecutive grass matches (Nadal '08 Wimbledon) and 10 straight GS finals (Djokovic '08 AO). That sword pretty much cuts both ways.

Yeah I mean the level they are at they are most likely all going to end eachother's streaks. Nadal ended Fed's streak of winning grand slam finals as well in 2006 at RG.

I may be biased but I do think the streak that Fed ended of Djokovic's was notable mainly because the epic length of the matches Nole had won including 500s and masters where you'd expect Nole to more vulnerable to an upset than in a slam, and also because the last person to beat him before the streak was also Fed. That's more of a funny stat though, and if Fed hadn't beat him Nadal of course would have had a chance or maybe it would have been Murray in Cincy

With the clay streak he ended, in a way it's remarkable that Nadal didn't have a random loss like he did to Ferrero in 2008. All streaks will end so it's partly plying great and a bit of luck sometimes

Basically they ended each other's streaks because they are the best of the best. Who else was going to finally beat Nadal on clay if it wasn't going to be the guy who had made the last RG final and had pushed him on clay the year before? Who else was going to stop Djokovic besides Federer or Nadal at some point? Same thing for Federer's streaks. Nadal had been to the previous two Wimbledon finals and was getting closer and closer, as shown by his performance in '07. Djokovic made the last hardcourt Slam final before '08 AO and had so many chances in that match. Not surprised to see any of them end those streaks.

You forgot Roger's winning streak in finals and maybe on hard too, not sure.

Many streaks were broken in the Fedalovic rivalry, but one stands out above them all. The one that had most significance, as Djokovic was going for the OE best run ever. Djoker seemed invincible and not many saw it coming, an all-time epic match. Roland Garros 2011.

Yes Nadal snapped Federer's 56 hardcourt match streak in 2006 Dubai and he had also got to a number of consecutive finals before Murray beat him in 2006 Cincy. I think you are talking about a different streak though.

Easier to end someone's winning streaks when he suffered from mono.

Fedr was not peak on clay yet. Just like Nadal was not peak yet on grass despite making two finals.

This line of thinking = that '08 Wimby Nadal became peak once he converted his Championship Point? So in theory Nadal was @ one stage during the '08 Wimby 5th set where he was a break point + A Federer service hold away from losing?

5 points away from not being peak because he would have lost? So peak = result not actual level of play?

How about this , what if '08 Wimby Nadal played worse than in a parallel universe where he played much better in another Wimby '08 Final yet Federer played slightly better & beat the better version of Nadal?

In theory the better version of Nadal or closer to peak version would lose whilst the slightly lesser-than-peak Nadal won? Hmmmm ...

My post was sarcastic obviously. Ned was prime in 06-11 on grass and peak from 07-10.

I was saying this because Ned fans use convenient peaks.

Nothing beats being bageled by a 31-year old when you're at your peak tho.
Oops you got likes and I got zilch. You win and I don't know how.

Next time you use years as an excuse, pls use it on normal natural cases, like Roddick, Hewitt or Ljubicic ;)

Rafa loves ending Fed's streaks too - ending his three slam streaks at RG in 2006 and 2007 and simultaneously preventing the Grand Slam in those years.

The AO semi-final is where Rafa will end Fed's five game streak in the Fedal H2H ;)
