rogers cup montreal

I am going to the rogers cup in montreal for the opening monday, tuesday and wednesay. Does anyone have any advice for where to get tickets, which tickets to buy etc. Are grounds passes available at the Rogers cup, because if they are I would rather take that than a stadium court. Also, should i buy tickets ahead of time or at the door.

Thanks

Ahead of time if possible, the Rogers Cup in Montreal tickets sell like hotcakes. They almost sold out the final a couple of hours after the tickets were open. You could buy them on site for the first couple of days I believe. You can check out this site, www.admission.com Don't worry, this site is legit and very professional. Just buy regular tickets, you could go wherever you want with them except on the blue seats in the Banque National Court. And remember, you want Uniprix Stadium(Stade Uniprix) tickets and not Court Banque National because with those (banque national) you can't go in Uniprix Stadium and watch the superstars( Nadal, Federer, etc).

I hope this will help you.:)

What do you want to know about? I know alot about the rogers cup, been behind the scenes, press boxes, media and locker rooms. The matches have always begun at 11:00am and the doors open at 10:00 so if you come early you can see some players practicing up close without too much people. If it's your first time going there, walk around the grounds to see it, to know where you are because usually the first matches at 11:00 aren't the most exciting ones. Around 1:00pm they usually put a superstar like Nadal, Roddick or Federer. At night you're guaranteed a superstar lol. The Banque National court usually holds players that are ranked between 10 and 20 in the world. But the little courts also have some great matches. I got to see Davydenko once on an outer court so always watch out for players!

Thanks guys

Mr. Federer, Can i get just a grounds pass for the early days and if so how much would just a grounds pass cost?

Well a Grounds pass would mean buying Banque National tickets, you can go everywhere except on the central. This here should have all the information you need about tickets. http://www.rogerscupmen.com/4/en/tickets/tickets.asp

Plus what I love about the Roger's Cup site is they have a picture to show what it looks like when watching from whatever section of the stadium. It's really neat.

Do You Need a Gate or grounds pass to get in:confused: (I Think I'm Screwed if you do) = Feeling The Pressure!!!

To get in what? Uniprix Stadium(Central) ? You would need a Uniprix Stadium ticket. That's all, and with a Uniprix Stadium ticket, you could go wherever you want.

I have never purchased Rogers Cup tickets ahead of time. I either buy them at the booths right before I go in, or get them cheap from some scalpers if they offer a good deal.

Neither have I. Just walk right up to the window. But since I never go to CC to watch a match the cheapest CC ticket is all I buy.

I bought some tickets a few days ago... nothing much left.

2 years ago, I went to buy some ticket on sites, realized that almost none were available then bought some from a sclaper for 60$ each. (Tichet I was looking for at first was 52$)

Anyway, don't know how the scalper got these tickets but we were sitting like 10 rows from the court, in some sections where you usually can't buy tickets.

Anyway, any of you wanna play tennis some day? I live like 15 minutes from downtown Montreal.

That's the way to do it, I also buy the cheapest CC ticket. I can understand those people who enjoy sitting at CC to watch the matches, but I find it a better value to walk around and see the players practice and play on the outer courts where you are literally 15 feet away from them.

The Grandstand court is great too, it has a better atmosphere and every seat is excellent.

I went on a Friday a couple years ago and had a great time. Since it is a long drive for me (over 4 hours) I stayed over and made a long weekend in Montreal out of it.

I just looked for tickets online and it says Friday day session is all sold out. Can this really be true? Are *ALL* tickets sold out or just the reserved seats? I guess what I'm asking is can is there a "grounds pass" type ticket that I could purchase for Friday?

Well, a "grounds pass" would mean buying Banque National tickets, and for a friday, you won't be seeing much because I believe it's the quarter-finals on friday, and there's no way they're putting a quarter-final match in BN court.

oh one other thing. if i want to see roddick, nadal, or federer practicing, do you have any idea as to when the best time would be to see them? like, 1-2 hours before their match?

i know thats a tough question, but any help would be great.

That's a very hard question, but on every practice court they have the schedule of the players practicing so you can know at what time they're gonna be there. Also, you can ask the friendly people who work at the stands near uniprix staidum and look up the practice times. Anyways, if you see a large crowd suddenly gather up a practice court it's not for a player who's ranked #44 world.;)

What day will you be going tennis_nerd?

so, we went all day today, it was amazing. saw most of the top 10 players, got 6 autographs. got to within 10 feet of nadal and federer. my sister got to have a chat with gasquet, im jealous of her for that :)

but what a great day. just all the tennis was amazing, great value for money thats for sure. walking around the practice courts was nice too. just out of interests sake, the nicest pro's that we ran into (ones that signed autographs, didnt look as if they didnt want to be there, joked around, had patience for the crowd and signing, etc.) were: blake, safin!!! (he was awesome, we saw him going on the little car thing and we waved and he waved back with this big smile. funny guy), davydenko (he posed for tons of pictures and everything, didnt say "no" to a singal signing or picture), gasquet, ginepri (spelling?). guys that werent too great were djokovic (he was really bad, no autographs, no waving, nothing), federer was so-so, he signed one autograph and sprinted inside as there was a 100+ mod coming at him :D, nalbandian wasnt nice either (he had an autograph session for which probably around 80 people showed up. around that... and they cut the line off, i just made the cut by about 5 people. then when half the people remaining were done, he decided to leave. some little kids were really sad, i was too though i wasnt little.. haha. but yea i didnt think that was right, especially cuz he'd already practiced a couple of hours and had plenty of time).

i developed a new found respect for blake, davydenko, gasquet and safin especially.

anyways, to anyone considering going, definitely go. its a great tourney. lots of stuff to see and tennis stuff to shop for ;)

to mr. federer: thanks SO MUCH for your help, it really came in handy. there were a lot more people than i thought there would be based on what you said, but still, it was great and your inside info led to some more autographs and time in the stands of both main courts. THANKS!!

Hey you're welcome man, I'm happy that you enjoyed your experience. And yes I agree that when you see a player that is nice to the crowd, you do get some new found respect for them. Did you go on tuesday? If you did, you most probably saw me, I was wearing a green t-shirt with "moniteur" written on the back and I was with another dude with the same shirt.
