Rome favores Nadal in schedueling... Again...

As you know, Nadal and Djokovic are projected to play in SF... I was happy when the draw was out because I thought they will finally have the same schedule and Novak won't play Nadal drop-dead tired...

Lol, stupid me... They again (like last year, and other too) reversed schedule so Nadal will have more time to rest before their possible match...
Novak played r16 early but in QF is scheduled tomorrow late, late in the evening. Nadal, on the opposite side, plays late tonight but will play earlier tomorrow...
That is so bad for tennis and so injustice...
I had some time ago thread about this matter, where in Rome first semifinalist exclusively wins because second sf winner is always drop tired... And guess what, Nadal always plays first semi. lol

This happened in 2019 , 2021 and now 2022 .

Give a dead tired Novak to Rafa at Rome , so that Rafa can build confidence required for RG . Good Strategy ;)

No rational person can justify or defend the decision of why is Nadal playing tomorrow morning again when he plays late tonight ? Hahaha :-D

Hang on so when Nadal has a late night match followed by one scheduled for the next morning, that’s not unfair on him, but when Djokovic has the same thing, that’s unfair and part of a conspiracy?

.................19,20,22 ,23,24......... :D

They gave RAFA a night match when he prefers playing in the day, but ok. The victim complex of the ******** sect of the Joker fanbase in truly staggering
That's not the topic but you already know that... Anyway, Rome plan screwed up because poor Nadal's foot/knee/scalp flared... again...

What a classless post. And this from a guy prepared to whine about every non issue in the world.

Better to have less time before Ruud then before Novak match, no? Plus Novak would have less time before match with Nadal... What's non understandable there...

There is a non-conspiratory explanation. The organizers thought Djokovic-FAA would be the highlight of the day.

And Semi would be played at night, so Djokovic/FAA would get enough rest anyway.

Thought the trolls would say "he was ducking Joker in the SF", this despite the fact that he has defeated Joker three consecutive matches in Rome (2018,2019,2021). As I said in previous posts the night clay matches aren't nice to Nadal who doesn't get the Topspin in late evening matches. Even Diego got him in a late match in Rome 2020, Shapo today, and Joker last year in RG. The toughest match Nadal had when he won RG 2020 was also an evening match against Sinner. He needed to win this match in two sets and try to heal for Rudd tomorrow.

This opens up the draw for Joker, Stefanos, and Tsitsipas. At this point it's 50-50 that Nadal can even finish RG. As assessment will be made with his team to see if any pain management (cortisone injections, pain medicine) might be able to get him through RG. Still think a 3rd Wimbledon title would mean more than RG since it would give a third surface slam. Nonetheless, congratulations to Shapo for getting the job this year after blowing match-points to Nadal last year in Rome.

Why does the OP's logic of a player being "drop tired" because he played the late match in the previous round only apply to the SF but not the earlier rounds? Maybe the organizers were trying to screw Nadal by making him play late tonight and then early the next day, hoping to make it more difficult for him to reach the semi.

History repeats itself. I don't buy it. He won the last slam and will come fuming at RG.

Of course he is going to win Roland Garros - morally speaking, he has already got it in the bag given how severely injured he is right now - but that's not why I said you hate him. You said that he will soon be injured long after it was evident to any reasonable observer that he was so badly injured that everyone else would have long since retired and only a herculean effort by The Humble Bull even kept him on court. Denying his injuries is a sure sign of hatred.

Not against Novak, but in favour of Nadal...

They gave him “good scheduling” by having him play at night and then the early match the next day so he’d get less rest.

It’s big brain time 8-B

I just saw the highlights, had to see what happened. He looks injured, no question. Not a good sign for him and his team.
