...and the stupid sportswriters that say things like "Dent next faces Wimbledon doubles champion Wesley Moodie of Russia" need to be smacked.

Wesley Moodie (RSA) is from the Republic of South Africa.
Marat Safin (RUS) is from Russia.

RUS = Russia
RSA = South Africa

Grr. That is all.

maybe the writer saw marat play and said "man is that guy moody" and made the assumption that all moody - or moodie as the case may be - tennis players are russian

peter - Hehe. And here I thought Jonas Björkman was our greatest hope for a Swedish Wimbledon winner - and then the half-Swede Stephen Huss wins Wimbledon instead
(Both his parents are Swedes, he speaks perfect Swedish, and he holds a dual nationality - althought he says that he feels more Australian than Swedish but that part I conveniently ignore
And while I'm at it - Russell Crowe is a Kiwi:D

Ah, and a new gaffe by atptennis.com - looking at their live scores, it seems they have realized their error, and thus to ensure that NOBODY mistakes South Africa for Russia, they have invented a NEW way to abbreviate the Republic of South Africa!

As per their live scores, Taylor Dent (USA) is currently down a break in the first set to Wesley Moodie (SAF).

This just keeps getting better and better...

They shouldn't change RSA to SAF, it's what they are recognised as all around the world.

For example, license plates. Also it is The Republic Of South Africa and that should be reflected in the abbreviation of their country imo.
