A lot times its structural. So you need chiropractic manipulation of the neck.
Few days until 61 ... and you guys make me look like I'm frickin 20.
Be careful with that chiropractors can make your neck worse. I went to one years back because of neck pain and he ended up giving me a bulged disc in my neck. Like my doctor told me chiropractors can help some with back problems but never let them work on your neck.
Yeah, here is just one quick...like really quick clip of the time lapse. Can't make out crap. And this is actually slowed down to 25% speed. UGhhh...
I go to a chiro every week for a full adjustment. have been for 10 years. neck is my favorite...
Don't be a hater. Professional athletes go to chiro even more. It's preventative as well as therapeutic.Okay good luck with that. Obviously it doesn’t work very well if you’ve been going once a week for 10 years. But hey that’s how chiropractors make their money.
Inflate it more than you are currently. Really stretch the neck. I'm going to get one.
Match updates...now 1/3 in 4.0 play. Still frustrated and optimistic at the same time. Losing on UE's is killing me, but also something I can clean up and that I completely control. Was serving big and even threw in S&V successfully. Score was 2/6, 4/6. I was up in the second set and blew that too. Again, frustrating but all things that will come back with time.
The good news was the guy was all for shooting video! Of course, I F!@#$d it up and somehow slid the mode from VIDEO to TIMELAPSE, so nothing but 10 minute clips sped up to 30 second clips! THAT pisses me off more than losing again! Was really looking forward to reviewing my play and seeing how I am making those UE since I feel like I am right there. Going back from the Apple Video app to the other one I was using as you cannot screw up modes in any way like that.

ha ha looks like a Charlie Chaplin movie!
Is your league format 2/3 (singles, dubs)?
Did you volunteer for singles or were you asked/recruited for it? Are you playing 1 or 2?
One reason I like our local league over USTA is the dubs is played after singles so you can play both. You also are matched up by rating so no stacking. I remember playing USTA and playing #1 singles against a guy they brought up from their 3.5 team. Total joke.

I would trust someone with experience in their field. Doctors are responsible for tons of deaths. Wrong medication. Improper diagnosis. Sloppy care.I said that they can help especially with lower back. But there are many cases of them causing paralysis through their neck manipulations. You may be surprised if you researched this subject. I went to chiropractors some years back and usually for back problems but sometimes I had them work on my neck with no problems. But the last time the neck work bulged a disk in my neck.
I didn’t notice anything the day he worked on me but the next day I went to bench press and I had no strength in my right arm, also had tingling in my fingers. I had no idea what was going on so I finally went to my doctor and told him my symptoms and never mentioned that I had been to a chiropractor.
His immediately asked me if I had been to a chiropractor lately and I said yes he then asked if he worked on my neck which I also answered yes. So he gave me some physical tests to see if I needed a MRI and said that I have a bulged disc in my neck and he didn’t think I needed a MRI unless it gets worse.
It took a long time but it eventually went away. I asked him how did he guess that a chiropractor did this because I never mentioned to him that I went to chiropractors. He said that this happens a lot from them working on necks of patients and said that sometimes he gets one a month. So I trust a doctor that went to years of schooling and training compared to a chiropractor that has minimal training.

You are old enough to see medical doctors are just as likely to error as anyone else.
Research deaths caused by medical doctors. I'm pretty sure medical doctors kill more people by accident indirectly or directly. As a general percentage if compare to chiropractors. There are good and bad in every field and yes doctors definitely make errors but their training is light years ahead of chiropractors. Like I said you can research the strokes that are caused my chiropractor neck manipulation if you want to know why I advise against them working on anyone’s neck.
...he ended up giving me a bulged disc in my neck.
That is what I am trying to aleviate. I ahve gone to a local sports med chiro and he did some inital adjustments and work, and I was doing a few 15 minute sessions a few times a week to help. It was really good, but I hate spending money so I treid to take on some of the rehab myself. And all the research I ahve done suggest there really isn't a full cure, but once the buldge occurs you can only manage it for the rest of your life. I dunno. The numbness and pain comes and goes depending on how much I use/over-use my shoulders - so I do much more hitting sessions than matches or practive with serving anymore.
Anyway, I am not completely for chiro, but also know there is a benefit.
So much false info.Doctors treat a wide variety of illnesses so comparing them having more deaths is very misleading and not a good comparison in any way. With neck manipulation by chiropractors they have you hang your head off the end of a table and they grab your head and chin then they give your head a quick snap while telling you to relax your neck muscles.
If you think this is safe and a proper way to treat neck pain then go for it. You can get away with this treatment which I did myself, but it only takes that one time for you to have serious consequences.
So much false info.
I'm talking pure statistics.Really what’s false? These are my real experiences so not sure where the false info is. Hey Rog if you don’t mind taking that chance of having your neck manipulated by chiropractors then that’s fine go for it. I’m just suggesting to others the risks that are involved which is not false info.
Video or it didn't happenMet another TTW member locally tonight. Gotta say, I really enjoy getting to know new people in the sport and finding what they love about it.
Video or it didn't happen
Not sure I saw that one, gotta search itlol. The only meet-up I video'd so far was that one with Shroud since we would have been grilled alive if we didn't. Otherwise, it's all good fun and not records to prove it.

After watching them again though, it makes me laugh more when rec players think they can keep up with any of these girls, even just in practice. Such athleticism, timing, and consistency. Love seeing excellence like that. Gonna take a few days off this week to catch up with a few girls I've known who are there and watch as much as I can. Will try to shoot some video. Wildcard starts tomorrow with 24 girls. I have one friend who is a local coach and is on the alternate list so hoping she will get in. Unfortunately we also have rain in the forecast this week so hopefully things don't get too messed up.
Says vdeoe unavailable?Wrist/hand is recovering, need to start hitting some serves since league starts in a couple weeks and I haven't served in months!
Filmed a bit of hitting last week, tried some overheads which felt ok. I'm wearing two different braces (one of which is in the way of the racket handle which feels really weird!). My rhs should increase once I take off all the braces/tape lol.
On the bright side my movement is really coming around (as you will see) - not bad for an old geezer with two hip surgeries! Pretty stoked about that!
My friend (far court) has had BOTH hips replaced so I *try* not to run him too much On the other hand I encourage him to run my sorry ass!
Court surface is beyond done but it's a two minute bike ride from my house so I often hit there. Sorry for lousy editing ha
Says vdeoe unavailable?
Fight it bro, we got your back
Great movement and shots.Oops, sorry about that. It was still a draft. Here

the sporty folks are the easy ones to work with they get it easilyDANG, this is kind of hard to take, yet very humbling. Got feedback on morning lesson. The trainee sent me a message thanking for the lesson and told he had had some kind of enlightment on serve motion. And continued telling, that he'd been thinking about the serve the rest of the day.
I had told him, let's build a solid second serve for you, a slice with decent pace to go with the spin. After the partial drills we made, he started having a decent racket drop with the required amount of supination and edge up movement straightening his hand finessing the impact by proper ISR at his best. Now it is just more and more reps and some minor tweeks on the toss to get it consistent.
Beforehand I was quite certain, it would not take long to get the basics into places, cause he's been playing ice hockey in his youth with to-be NHL players in the same teams and won some championships in bandy too. Good background for a student of any sport.
Really rewarding to work with people with sports background, while the non athletics wear you out sometimes.
I hope we'll get to play at some point. Looking great and thanks for posting the vid. Enjoyed watching.
Thanks for the positive comments guys! Considering I could not even jog and never thought I would play again not too long ago I'm excited to be running around! Going to continue to video myself - lots to improve on that I certainly didn't see when imagining what I looked like hitting the ball lol.
@ChaelAZ you going to IW this year? I think I will be there 3/7-12...we should hit if you are there. I'll be staying with a friend who is a good player and another friend (from the vid above) will be there too and has access to clay courts.
What were your symptoms? And what do you feel caused it (not open stance?)?No, not full replacements (yet). Femoro-acetabular impingement, same thing Murray has, Hewitt and Kuerten had, etc. except I had it in both hips (along with a badly torn labrum in the right hip joint). The surgery reshapes the ball of the femur and repairs the labrum. It's not that invasive of a surgery but it's a long recovery. Baseball players have come back from it but pro tennis is just too movement dependent. Fortunately I'm not a pro so the surgery was a huge success!
