Should Nadal skip the clay season?

Nadal will be 28 this year now and age seems to have caught up with him. I think he doesn't have much of a shot at RG, unless both Novak and Federer especially the latter lose in the earlier rounds. He could also lose to one of the power hitters like Wawrinka at the Aus Open this year.

So, should he cut his losses and focus completely on Wimbledon like what Murray did last year? He has Toni by his side now so why not work on improving his net game some more and focus purely on grass, save some energy for tournaments he's more likely to win? Note that he already has the record most French Open titles so playing every French Open tournament for ranking points seems counterproductive.

Thoughts?

OP, your reasoning skills seem to be as impressive as your mathematical skills
