Should Roger play Stuttgart 2020?

Usually I would not suggest that a almost 39 year old plays TWO warm ups for Wimby, but given he will have plenty of rest in the months leading up, and that his Wimbledon seeding is in doubt, could it be a smart move?

What if he is rusty and loses first match in Halle? Then he goes to Wimbledon with virtually no matches since Australia. Just a thought.

Roger has played Stuttgart in 2016, 2017 and 2018. It was correct to skip in 2019 because he played RG, but this year he might need the matches.

In order to get rhythm, yeah.

Thats what I think. There doesn't seem to be many downsides, besides the off chance he gets injured.

I worry he could get knocked out early in halle, and forced to enter Wimbledon "cold".

I hope his team are strongly considering adding Stuttgart.

Fed said in 2018 he will not again play Stuttgart and Halle back to back. I suppose he could change his mind due to the unique circumstances this year, coming back from surgery. And he said that after crashing out early to Tommy Haas in 2017, but did play Stuttgart the next year.

I think no.

Fedr usually is a man of his word. That trait will put him in a tight spot to w/d from Halle if he goes deep at Stuttgart, resulting in lowering his chances at WB (we saw this in 2018 grass). Fedr is one of the best, if not the best, 'cold start' slam champ in history (see AO17). I think Halle/WB is the right choice that Fedr made, and he should stick with it.
