SIDE (left) knee pain

The other day I was practicing my serve on a hard court and walking to the other side I felt a sudden sharp pain on the left outer side of my left knee.It was very sharp at the time.It was a very humid day.The pain stopped as soon as I stopped walking and got inside my car.At home I put some ice on it for 1/2hr and lifted it.It's been 2 days and I haven't played since,no pain,no swelling,I can bend and straighten my leg without pain, but if I overbend it,I might get a little "sting"..Still it rains a lot.The day before I had played 2hrs on similar conditions and landed a couple of times hard (flat) on my knee.I am 26,right handed and have a service motion like Safin..Anyone experienced something similar?Could this be worth a visit to a doctor?

Yeah, those are good,I do some of the first ones.I am also a windsurfer so stretching is part of my program, but sometimes I do skip it cause ,u know,it's kinda boring..Yoga is also good. But I played for 2hrs today, just walked in,and no problems. No pain or anything, maybe it's got something to do with the weather, today it was sunny and warm..Probably just overused it a bit,I am gonna be really careful though, lots of stretching and strengthening!Be healthy!!

Possibly just some tendonitis. Keep icing it, take some Advil and if you're playing in old shoes, get a new pair. Most sporting goods stores sell neoprene knee braces that can help a lot. I get tendonititis in one of my knees from time to time and a neoprene brace seems to help. I also start taking advil for 3 - 4 days at the first sign of any pain and ice it once or twice per day.

If it feels worse or doesn't get better, go see a doctor.

Good luck.

Too easy. It's ITB. Stretch.
Even one session of phisio (good massage) will help.
