Just relax, I told you I'm going to take a look from my desktop and we'll see for ourselves just how different your emotions and analysis were when it was Roger doing this to younger players, ok?

go ahead, pal.

Nadal of AO 17 final would've ensured a beatdown on Nadal of AO 22 final and you know it.
and nadal of AO 17 final wasn't even prime level.

My analysis was similar back then. Of course I am not a robot to have exact same emotions when fed was doing well compared to now, duh.

Yeah, the key magical ingredient was missing...

RF wasn't there.

Am I right or am I right?

It sums it up 100%.

That poster is so transparent it's simply hilarious to see him claim it's just a random disinterested tennis discussion for him when everything he writes is drippng with venom and raw emotion.

If we put Roger in there, it would all of a sudden be about amazing play and a challenge from a younger player with incredible court coverage etc.

Both Novak and Federer have failed to break Nadal from 0-40 in major finals...

Novak failed in 2013 US Open at 4-4 in the 3rd set...

Federer failed in 2009 Aus Open also at 4-4 in the 3rd...

Pretty sure Nadal wasn't serving like Sampras to get out of those situations either...

I had forgotten about the 2009 AO.

Also, Djokovic failed in the 2012 Australian Open final at 3-4 in the fourth set where if he had converted he would have served for a 5-7 6-4 6-2 6-3 win.

Pretty sure Nadal also wasn't 35 in 2009 or 2013. He had younger legs and was able to get around to returns on courts that played a good deal slower than in 2022.

Also, the point here is Med was already 2 sets up. Fed and Novak weren't. It's a completely different scenario if it's a tough battle versus one you are winning. The problem is Med himself did not believe he could win. That's why he was more upset with the stupid Cristiano Ronaldo vandals than with himself for losing. Guy's sure gonna go a long way with that kind of attitude, lol.
RF fan detected.

So why are you pretending to be objective? Don't you know that the truth always comes out eventually?

Using age as an excuse for EVERYTHING is a tell-tale sign of RFism. Certainly Djokovic and Nadal fans hardly use it.

If you decided to follow tennis just because you picked ONE player to root for and worship, then you can't get angry at me, Nadal or Medvedev (not to mention Djokovic) when things start going South, when the GOAT myth starts crumbling like a paper tiger.

Thank you for proving my point. In fact you are so biased that the possibility that you may be wrong and I may be right doesn't even occur to you. Bwahaha "I have defended and criticized all of the Big 3" - got news for you, kid, so have I and very recently too. But all it took is for one poster to say I am a Roger fan and you go, "That's it". Actually, that's all I need to know to know where you stand. It's you who are partisan, not me, because you decided to judge my opinions based on which player I am a fan and then laughably style yourself above that.
Such emotion...

Over what?

Tennis.

Why?

You need to accept the fact that some people are capable of objective analysis. Getting all riled up like a child about it won't help you.

The fact that you see "enemies everywhere" is a projection on your part. You are a biased uber-fan so you assume everyone else must be too.

Basic Psychology 101.

More projection. I have been following tennis since the 90s, unlike you and other Nadal fanboys.

Real talk: This is a 35 year old Nadal who had not played tennis for months before the tournament and had covid just before it. If you seriously think this compares in anyway to the Nadal of AO 09 or of USO 2013, you're insulting him. Do you even know how successful Nadal was in the USO series that year and not just at USO? No, didn't think so. The point simply here is Med played a Nadal who was far more beatable than in 2009 or 2013. The point is that Med should have beaten him and has no excuse for not doing so. That is not a discredit to Nadal. He richly deserved to win for fighting till the end and raising his level eventually. But you said Nadal beat Med by making up with more aggression than before and he did no such thing. Again, a younger and fitter Nadal than this one played more aggressively in the 2017 and 2019 AO finals and still lost to Fed and Djokovic. Come on, do tell me what excuses do YOU have for those losses?

and your laughable attempt at pretending to be non-fanatic of Nadal is hilarious btw.

Because objective fans annoy you?

Why though. We can educate the uber-fans. We are here to help you.

I am not talking about some people, only YOU. A person who resorts to kindergarten level sporting debate "yeah, you are a fan of XYZ, lol, naturally you say that" cannot possibly be objective. And there is nothing objective about what you said. Again, you claimed Nadal used aggression to compensate for what he had lost in physicality but Med made more winners than Nadal. Er, did you need that? Or are you so convinced of your objectivity that you don't even bother to read the numbers and just go with your ever infallible gut?

Watch out, he's gonna bring up Fed losing to Nadal 18 years ago to make it seem like Med is not a loser.

No double account can just be 'reported' as you know. However the signs are all there and you're clearly one of the usual trolls here.

I thought there is a report button next to every post
Just press it, and write all your arguments there
Shouldn't be so difficult to figure out for such a smart person

You are a blind Nadal fanatic, pal.

Even so, both Fedovic from back then would have easily straight setted 2022 Nadal.

Please let me debate a small topic without making me get involved in a fan war between Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic!

Nadal's ability to hold serve from way down is indeed very good and it has annoyed me many times in the past. Another example, although not from 0-40, was when he was 0-30 at 4-4 in the fifth set against Verdasco and then won the next seven points. I had stayed up all night cheering for Verdasco only for that to happen. Grrh.

Uber-fans are awfully repetitive. It's not like you guys come up with new arguments or sentences... It's all copy-paste.

Just bored. So shoot me.
Good, I too am incredibly bored of your 'arguments' that make repeated proclamations about your much vaunted objectivity but are nothing but rhetoric and insults because only those and farts escape your body.

It's not 'arguments' it's IP addresses and exact speech patterns or double accounts wouldn't last for months as they often do

Don't worry, your charade is transparent in any case 'Mr. I'm not a fan of any player' who just happens to join to complain incessantly about Nadal right after he wins #21.

I think nobody disputes Nadal's ability to hold service from being down
The point is that Meddy played one way till the break points, and then relaxed, and was waiting for the really unforced error to come

Agreed on most of that - and @mike danny: thanks, and with all that said I do agree that younger versions of Federer or Djokovic or Nadal himself would most likely have won against his 2022 AO self - but I wouldn't say "relaxed." If Medvedev were relaxed, he wouldn't just wait for the UE.

could even be 1% drop in quality... but at the GS-winning-level, that 1% might as well be an ocean of quality.
fun math
nadal points won: 182 49.06%
medd points won: 189 50.94%
hypothetically, in "peak" nadal form, the numbers would be reversed
so that would be a 14pt swing, so nadal "dropped" 50% in quality points that separated them, so maybe simon was being generous :p

Yeah... Ray Liotta pretending to laugh in a scene from Goodfellas.

I think he means 'laidback' or 'passive' rather than relaxed. Med didn't press the issue. And then promptly collapsed and conceded serve in the next game; it was so predictable.
