I currently own 2 Slazenger X1 but I have an option to by a Slazenger Pro Braided for quite a reasonable price to be a backup for my X1's. can anyone tell me how the pro braided performs. what are the specs of the pro braided? is it an arm friendly racket? any details would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I've owned all 3 versions. The original B & W is 11.6 strung, 8 points HL with a SW of 321. The Henman is about 11.8 strung, 2 points HL with an SW of around 330. The X1 heaviest @ 12.0 strung, is 8 points HL with a SW of 311. On court, the B&W is pretty firm but comfortable and is the least powerful. Great maneuverability, great volleys, good spin but low powerered off the ground and on serves.

The Henman plays WAY different! Almost even balance + highest SW = unforgiving off the ground if your timing is off. Balls can fly and you really need sound technique to rip groundies....but if you have it you can hit huge + heavy winners from anywhere. Can serve very big. Less maneuverable @ net but the almost even balance make for easy deep, heavy volleys. Jarring on mishits, as it is the least forgiving of the 3.

The X1 is a more stable, higher powered, more comfortable version of the B&W. Does not play anything like the Henman. IMO the best of the 3 versions by far. It's a perfect blend of all the best attributes of the other 2 sticks. Does everything very well and is a great stick for aggresive all-court play. Awesome for serves and @ net and can hang from the baseline if needed but would not the best choice for a pure baseliner (who probably would not be considering any of these sticks anyway). All 3 versions EAT strings.

I currently use the X1 and 007 comments were right on, however I'd also like to add that the vibration dampening system in the handle is the only dampening system I've ever liked in a racket. Still has a wonderful, classic feel yet no bad vibrations.

Agreed....System X really takes harsh vibrations out of the impact but leaves feel intact. IMO the X1 plays best with a fairly crisp string. This stick is well-damped and very solid feeling but nothing close being muted or dead.

I discovered a 1993 Tennis Magazine Equipment Guide in my clubhouse yesterday and while browsing thru it read about a Slazenger that had System X back then. It was described as two diagonal layers of polymer separating the frame from the handle pallet. It did not show a view of the buttcap but I bet System X was resurrected for the Pro X1.
