Slazenger X1

Hi Everyone,

I have been using the slazenger X1 for a number of years now, but would like something maybe slightly lighter but with the same feel, balance and similar head size. I've tried a number of frames but nothing has even come close.

The Slazenger X1 for me is a great racket with a very solid feel, I've even tried a number of newer Slazenger rackets which are far to light with the frames being very unbalanced and thick.

Please reply if any advice on a replacement and your thoughts on the Slazenger X1.

Many thanks

PS: My first post on TW.

While I haven't played too much tennis recently, my main stick is still the Pro X1. I kind of settled on it at the time, but know what you mean. It's a unique muted feel. For me it was (and is) a little too unforgiving, but the feel wins out.

If you play doubles (I do almost exclusively), I was wondering myself about the Head FXP Team. It's a little bigger (102 Sq. In) but has some good reviews. Lighter, but higher swingweight.

Aside from the above-mentioned 5G, you may want to keep your eyes on the upcoming Adidas Barricade. The Tour will be about the same weight as the X1, but will have a denser string pattern. The regular Barricade (16 x 18?)will be lighter and customizable. To me, it looks like the Barricade (Tour and non-Tour) will be a more powerful brother of the Gamma 325G, which I tried and found to have great classic feel, but no power. If you can find a G325, that may be a good one to try though.

I'd be interested on what you try and like to replace your X1.

Richard,

If you are planing to take a shot at the Head FXP Team (Radical, I am guessing). Drop a line to BuffaloBill3. It is his main stick.. I have hit a few balls with one.. but he used it much of last season.

The 5G is also very sweet.. and much better on the arm than the X-1.

Regards,
Steve

Cheers for the tips with the other website very helpful and Richard nice to hear another X1 user.

The 5G racket is a ProKennex? the stats for that racket sound good but never considered it I might have to.

The FXP Team I reckon may be to light, I'll have to test the head prestige mp it seems similar to spec as the X1, tried the prestige pro and found it powerfull but without the accuracy to control it.

I've tried all the wilson blade range and havn't got on with any apart from the Kblade tour which was ok.

Have Dunlop any decent rackets used the aerogel 400 tour very tinny alittle light and the aerogel 200 337g too heavy.

The Adidas rackets sound real nice will have to see in flesh. Will keep you updated.
