Smashing racquet = immediate point penalty

Do you agree? I'd say also game penalty for smashing PT57As!
Jokes apart, that's extremely disrespectful towards the racquet manufacturers and tennis fans who play tennis in the first place.
Those guys can earn millions $$, they shouldn't be allowed to do that, seriously.
Do you ever smash things where you're frustrated or something goes wrong with your job? Even if your monthly pay is just 1-2 K $? You'd be fired I guess.

I always wondered what sponsors think when the player blames the racket.

If Djok cant use it, i certainly cant

I don't think they blame the racquets, it's just dictated by frustration. However, it makes it look like that.
Anyway, they should not be allowed to do that. Are you "poor man" allowed such a behaviour in your job?

I dont think any job allows you to the break equip they supply. Once your self suffient, you dont do silly things like break your rackets or blame the saw.

Tools arent living/learning creatures, to treat them like they have emotions only reflects on the user who happens to be a tool.

Break so many rackets that all but one sponsor pays you not to use their sticks

$$$$$$$$$

Dont understand this one, please elab

Why such a snowflake?

Marat Safin and Goran Ivanisevic looked cool when they were smashing their rackets.

Dimitrov and Zverev, not so much... :-D

I'm torn on this topic because i really want the tennis rules to be enforced but i won't deny that watching racquets being smashed is incredibly entertaining. I think the rules about it are fine right now BUT if the time it takes to replace the racquet causes a genuine delay to the next point then there should be a point penalty for that. Say a player is serving and smashes the racquet at 15-40 and he takes longer than the allowed 20seconds to replace it, he should lose the point.

Nope, I like to see some good ole racquet smashing on occasion.

I agree to a certain extent. I love when Stan demolishes the hoop in one blow, then breaks the throat over his knee. The best.

I also love when crybaby Zverev breaks a racquet after his opponent just hit a winner, modern alpha style

It'd be great if they forced them to play the rest of the match with the smashed racquet.

If you break all of your racquets you'd have to default the match, happened to crazy Goran once. Though he only brought 3 racquets or something.

It's great for the racquet manufacturer.

Everyone knows they're not blaming the racquet manufacturer. They're blaming themselves and punishing themselves by having to use a new racquet.

Except for Fabio.

Seriously I just don't get this sort of virtue signaling. Lots of other sports have stuff happening that's comparable to some degree that are much biggers 'wastes' and nobody complains about those.
