Some Ideas to improve ATP Masters Cup/World Tour Finals/YEC

Make every match best of 5 sets in the RR stages.
Player who is leading by 2 sets to love can choose to play out the last set as a tie breaker.
Loser gets 1000 ranking points taken which are then transferred to the winner.
2 day rest in between matches.
Oh and cake will be served at the end of every match. :-D

This way you won't know the year end no1 until the end of this tournament.

Final is 5 out of 7 sets.
Player who leads by 3 sets to love can choose to play out a set as a tiebreaker.
I guess this will give Nadal some incentive to improve his indoor game?

So what do you guys think??
Anyone got any other ideas?

It seems that people on this forum would rather talk about and fight about who is better between Nadal/Federer/Djokovic etc..

Where are the brainy original people on this forum?
Or are you all just a bunch of testosterone fuelled meatheads?

The brainy people preferred to keep mum on absolutely ludicrous ideas like yours :D I would like to see it in a full league format. Probably a bit less drama but more legit winner.

The World Tour Finals has become the most boring tournament on the calendar. It needs to be held in different cities as it used to be, and played on different surfaces (like clay). Not to mention the fact that you can lose, and still win the title- the equivalent of being a lucky loser winning a title. The challenger tour finals were played on clay-courts last year, so the WTF should give it a try, too (but of course, Chris Kermit and his millionaire friends would never do such a thing). Hopefully Nadal boycotts this poopstain of a tournament.

Normally, I'd brag about Nole. But to answer your questions...

-I think best of 5 would not hurt for RR.
-That's unfair. They should just play the next set as usual.
-I think it'd be better to give the runner-up a consolation prize of 1,000. The winner of the YEC should get 2,000. All contestants who win a match get 500. Losers get 250. That way, it's fair for everyone.
-Hmm... that's okay, I guess.
-I'd prefer In-N-Out or Jersey Mike's, but cake works too.

In a scenario 2016, Nole could tank an RR and lose in the final and still be the No.1. But even then, you can be the guaranteed Number 1 even before the ATP WTF.

Final a Best of 7? Very tiring. I think best of 5 sounds better,
Nah. Nadal is poor in the indoor hard courts. Let's keep it that way, please? :p

It should be hosted in different cities every year; you're right. It's only boring for you because Nadal's never won the WTF. Chances are he never will :p

Brainy guy right here, pally!

Only the deluded Fedals have no brains...

I don't care if Nadal never wins the WTF (and I think he will at some point) because it's all about the slams. Masters titles and WTFs mean substantially less (and they're thinking of upping the points value of Madrid and Dubai to be "super-masters" worth more points than all the other Masters tournaments, which would lower their prestige).

Too many masters would discredit the tournaments' value in points. The WTF is good as it is. It's better to host it in a different city every year, yes.

Cincinnati has became very boring. They should change surface every now and then. Hopefully Djokovic boycotts this poopstain of tournament.

Except nobody cares about Dj, so I doubt anyone would even notice his absence if he were to boycott. Not that it matters, since Dj isn't good enough to win Cincinnati (what an awesome hard-courter!).

My take:

1. Fast indoor hard court. Clay and grass are specialized surfaces and hard court offers most neutral surface. I would not mind return to carpet ;)

2. League format

3. Permanent location, preferably Asia - heritage will do for the prestige of the tournament

4. Bo3 format.

First right step would be on deciding the name of the tournament. Confusing array of names!

It will then turn into slam , just do one change make final five setter with one day gap after semi.
Another thing surface should be carpet or fast hard court.
Apart from these things wtf is still awesome.
