Looks to be a lot of new teams and faces in Southern Sectionals for mixed this year. Typically Southern does well at Nationals in mixed in 8.0 and 9.0 - Anyone have any insights this year with the teams?

The Louisiana team is really solid, their guys are really strong. Several of the guys were on the 4.5 men's team that finished second at men's sectionals. One of their ladies played a couple of years at Nicholls State and is really a strong player. They're good people too.

I saw they share a lot of players between the 8.0 and 9.0 teams -- also doesn't appear that they've actually signed up 8.0 but they did for 9.0

They may only play 9.0 because of player availability. If the 2nd place team from New Orleans goes, they're strong too. The captain was on a Baton Rouge team that won mixed 8.0 nationals about five years ago.

You are talking about 9.0 right? An 8.0 team consisting of a 4.5 male and a 3.5 female former D1 college player would be some serious shenanigans.

Looks like they offered for teams to opt out of sectionals due to the hurricane - curious to see if any teams drop out or not.

Nope! Maybe you are thinking the Kentucky team and not South Carolina? I am on the South Carolina 9.0 and 10.0 teams, didn't qualify during state for 9.0 though because I was only playing 10.0. Both our teams made it so I am just playing 10.0 this weekend.
Oh, he’s on the SC 18 and over 9.0 team. I am on the 40 and over.
