Spadea.... he's a little weird....

He is the man. He destroyed his opponent today. For me he is the best US tennis player since Sampras, except that he has personality too.

that might have been the greatest interview a tennis player has done in years. You know the women giving the interview was probably a good looking lady cause that was Vince putting the charm on.

I played him in a junior tournament about 20 years ago. He of course served me 2 bagels. During one of his serves, the racket slipped out of his hand and went into a fence pole and broke. I kind of snickered to myself since he was beating me so bad. My next service game the same damn thing happens to me!

Funny story. How did your tennis career turn out?

You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

Best in what way? Best tennis rapper? I don't even agree with that. Guess you've not heard of Roddick, Blake, Fish, Dent... a long list of American guys that could beat the crap out of Spadea with one arm handcuffed to the net post. He's amusing, I'll admit. But what's his ranking history, again?

I actually think Vince just enjoys being out there. He is better than you make him seem. (the post above me)

He is not easy to beat by any means. Who knows if Blake could have beat him today? Vince has been around for a long time and has some very good wins.

Spadea has ATP career singles wins over Federer, Sampras, Agassi, Nadal, Roddick, Rafter, Kraijcek, Kafelnikov, Courier, Chang, and Kuerten. Career high ranking of #18

I found his book much more entertaining to read than Blake's. In fact, I stopped Blake's book about 80% of the way through, which is pretty unheard of.

k, just saw the vid, dude's on crack. I thought his raps in the book were pretty horrible, but there's nothing like experiencing the horror live.

Not filled with self-love, but self-loathing, and dealing with it creatively it looks like. Which is a good thing!

OK, so Gasquet is suspended for cocaine and not this guy? You'd think he'd set off all the alarm bells after that interview.

Nevertheless, entertaining guy. Adds some color to the ATP, I hope he stays around.

What, that's how normal people talk (minus the rap), at least the people I hang out with. He's not some broken record of tennis cliches.

It's refreshing to listen to a tennis player bright enough to actually play on words and be sarcastic.

Most players are extremely one dimensional; hell, Federer is stuck in the first degree ("he played well but I still destroyed him, it's a pity really") and all Nadal can do is keep repeating "I try 100%, no?"

If Spadea could win more than 3 matches in a row he'd be a superstar.
