Spent yesterday hitting with Mats Wilander - not a bad Saturday...

I don't think he can actually beat a D1 player, not a good one anyway. Even one of the top D1 player like Robert Farah has trouble winning consistantly at D1 level.

From the sound of it, a really good D1 player has trouble staying on court with Borg at 53.

You are a prejudiced (obviously) idiot who apparently doesn't know squat. Borg toyed with the college player: 6-2, 6-1.

Some years back, I knew a 40ish yr old 6 foot former WTA player (in the early 80's), who peaked at something like 130. She CLEANED the clock of men's 4.5 and 5.0 players.

It's obvious Fedace knows little about high level tennis. If all someone knows about tennis is playing in high school and watching it on TV, it's hard for him to really know the subtle differences each higher level incorporates. Borg and Wilander, for a time in our history, were the best tennis player in the world, period. This fact shouldn't be lost on us. For a period, no one in the world can claim to be a better player. When someone has reached that level, they will be heads and shoulders above lots of players for a long time, even when giving up 30 years.

Right on. I have been blessed to have the regular opportunity to hit and play with a few players who were ATP top 200 as well as two top WTA'ers who crested at #24 and #53 respectively. Both the women regularly cleaned the clock of many a male 5.0 even when in their 30's and early 40's. Keep in mind a lot of the issue comes down to knowing how to 'play the game' and to competitiveness. Borg and Wilander? Forget about it! ;) BHBH

Bumping an old thread. Wilander's tour is coming around this week, and on Saturday I get to participate!

Looks like his website has been updated and the schedule is up there if you want to see if he's coming to your town...
