Hi Chris, I get the impression from your reviews that you generally hit with Cyclone a lot.

Ive been using Cyclone 16g for many years now and wondering if there is something that plays as similar as possible to Cyclone but has better tension maintenance you can recommend?

Recently tried Silver 7 Tour which had great tension hold but didn't play at all like Cyclone IMO.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hmmm. Tough question. I think if you haven't tried pre-stretching then perhaps give that a go. It will make the stringbed play a bit firmer, but tension hold should be improved. You might even find you can drop the tension a couple of pounds to get that more familiar stringbed feel back, especially since the strings should not bag out as quickly.

As far as other strings, in the world of co-polys I like Kirschbaum the most for their tension hold. I really liked Flash when we tested it. Although it's a round co-poly, I found it offered great spin, tons of control and a very consistent response. Black will likely play most similar if you are using Cyclone Black, but I was a big fan of the yellow Flash as well.

Hope that helps.
Cheers, Chris, TW.
