String samples from Alpha?

I am interested in their Pioneer DC+ after reading a lot of information here. Do they offer stringing samples? Can I choose which one I want? Thanks.

I just recently got the DC+, and no, I do not think you get a choice. The strings that came with mine were:

3x MXT Synthetic Gut (15L, 17 and 18 [neon yellow, purple, and white])
2x All-Player Nylon (15L [pink and white])
1x Hardcourt SG (17)
1x Quick Response (15L)
1x Gut 2000 (17)

Personally I just used the nylon and thin MXT Synthetic Gut to practice with. Will probably just use the rest for other people who don't care what string is put in their racket. I also got 6 overgrips, one grip, and by far the best thing, the instructional DVD.

Yes. When you order the machine, I would call the company and speak to Mark Gonzalez. They will send you an assortment of strings, overgrips, and all the basic tools you need to do a string job (e.g., awl, string grabber, snips, pliers). When you order you can ask for what kind of strings you want included (e.g., synthetic gut, multi, poly etc.). He can include an assortment of these as well I am sure. I asked for only synthetic gut. So my Pioneer DC+ came with about 8 or 9 packs of Alpha Gut 2000, a synthetic gut, and two packs (6 rolls total) of Alpha overgrips. The string samples have been great as I have been able to use them to practice learning how to string. Hit with the string too and it is actually a pretty decent synthetic gut string.

Ditto on this. You can mix and match strings, overgrips, etc. or take all of one thing. I've also used the AlphaGut 2000 as well as their poly, (I can't recall the name.)

I forgot to ask and they sent me a reel of vengence. I would rather take the synthetic gut if i knew

When I ordered mine they let me choose the string. But it was 2 yrs ago. I don't know if things have changed. Call Mark Gonzalez. I'm sure he can accomodate you.

I just sent Mark an email with the types of strings I was using at the time and possible choices I thought I'd like and let him pick specifically what to send. If I remember correctly, I got:

3 Vengeance
3 Sphere
2 Gut 2000
2 Tenacity

This was with an Apex 2, however, so with the DC+ you may not get this level of string (Sphere is around $13/set, Vengeance is around $8/set, etc.). I'd imagine with the DC+ you'll get some standard synthetic and Gut 2000, they seem to like giving that string away. It's a decent string, but even non string breakers who I've given it to broke it in under 5 hours...

When I got my Revo a little under a month ago, I received roughly 20 packs of string and 9 overgrips, along with the instructional dvd and tools.
