Stringing a Wilson 97S

Im having a hard time tying off mains for a 2 piece... Im spending way too much time trying to tie them off. Tie off is 9h or 6h??
The main goes through 9H on an angle and if you're using a thick string in new grommets it can be difficult. String one piece if you can if you're using a hybrid pre weave the top three crosses and insert the top cross in 9H before tensioning the 8th main. Tie the mains at 6H and the top cross at 9H.

Are you saying, after tensioning the last main that's coming out of H11, you run them all the way back to H6? Because H6 is the ***** grommet to get a soft, thick string through.
What I have been doing is having my cross already shoved in H6, with enough tail to tie off and just hang the remaining coil on the shoulder clamp knobs until I finish the mains. But I am a novice stringer. The regular Prostaffs are so much easier than this one, when using soft strings.

Another option is to do the same thing with the main on 9H. Then you need a bridge (starting clamp) to tension the last two mains. If you don't have a starting clamp a pathfinder awl will worl but put the awl in before tensioning the 8th main from the inside.

Have you had a chance to string the 97S yet, I know you've string a million rackets probably and was curious how you found this one? For what it's worth, when using a stiffer string in the crosses, these problems go away significantly and don't need to do any of this "pre" stuff. It seems like with the 20ft piece of main string, I always "bridge" the last main on each side.

Yes I have strung one, but not with a soft string or a thick string.

I'm having such a frustrating time tying off my mains with ashaway kevlar.. I end up tying off on 6h..

Which leaves me with starting knot in 9h for the stiffer crosses... But having to go under/through 2-3 mains.

For the mains, the tie-off on 2 piece is at 9H on each side. The starting is 6H and it ends on the opposite 6T.

yeah I know this, but most of the time I can't get my kevlar mains through the 9h on either side, which leaves me with the 6h... and starting 9h for crosses..

Hmmm? That's weird, I am able to get soft, 16g, NXT Power through there(9H). The problem I have is starting my crosses and getting the string through 6H. I wound up just threading it through with enough to tie off before I tension the main that goes through 6H and I just have the coil of cross strings hooked onto the bracket clamp knobs.
...with a stiffer string though, neither is a problem, just the soft strings.
