Actually I'm thinking about to put the rackets in a box with a ozone generator. Removes the bad smeel from the grips and normally the viruses and bacteria too. But don't know how the ozone will react with the materials of the rackets especially the grips.

I think the main issue is that as facilities and groups shut down, there won’t be any racquets to string.

I'm thinking (for clients):-

Wash hands - plastic bag on handle - wipe racket down actibacterial wipe - string - wash hands - return racket - wash hands

Interested in what others think?

our club closed as of yesterday had 3 from club and 3 from other regular to do. prefer the money transfer to cash, maybe wipe cash as well, virus cannot live on

I thought the addition of lime to be implied. :)

I actually don't like fruit with my beer but do like beer when I am stringing my own racquets. That and music.

For some reason this whole thing has me a bit down tonight. Perhaps it is uncertainty with my son's school/college stuff and missing tennis with my friends, etc.

Wear disposable gloves before you touch anything. Wrap the whole handle with cling wrap. Spray the whole racquet with disinfectant spray, wipe it. Then dry the whole racquet with hair dryer on maximum heat.

I’m not sure why we should incur all of the extra costs.

On top of stringing fee, I’m going to require electronic pay along with a roll of toilet paper and Clorox wipes.

-im def. wiping rackets when they come into my house
-ive used a empty ball-can to place on the handle while i string, keeps me from touching it
-bag the racket after and sanitize once deal is done

According to the CDC, hydrogen peroxide is a stable, and effective disinfectant against viruses when used on hard, non-porous surfaces. Typically sold in 3% solutions, hydrogen peroxide can be used as is, directly from the bottle. It's best to keep it away from fabrics when cleaning and to wear gloves to protect your hands. After checking the racket, removing strings, removing any overgrip, cleaning the racket, and replacing the OG you can then string the racket. Don’t forget to clean your machine and tools daily. I would not replace OG without checking with client first. Make sure clients are aware of any new policies you may be putting in place to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

From a biodegradability standpoint, hydrogen peroxide is very desirable, since it breaks down into water and oxygen molecules. Not only does it biodegrade, but it does so quickly. After hydrogen peroxide does its cleaning, whether it’s removing bacteria, mold, dirt, or debris from a substrate, it begins breaking back down to its original building blocks.

It seems to me that with players now being able to give up all their sticks to their stringer—not needing them to play—may somewhat offset the lack of string jobs actively being worn out. So, depending on how limited movement is where you are, at least there may be a little "bump" in string jobs ... until everyone has all their racquets back in hand with new strings.

i haven't seen a racquet since March 12th. I am going to start stringing my own just to stay in practice.

I am in the same boat. I have not restrung a racquet as no one is playing.

I have been fortunate that my son finally showed an interest in learning how to string racquets so we have been working on the practice racquet we have. He is really starting to get 2 piece down and his knots are looking good.
