Strings tension for lm prestige mid w/ head fibergel power 17g?

Hello there everybody!

I just recently got a lm prestige mid, and im loving it! I want to string it with head fibergel power 17g (had great results with this string in midsize racquets), and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the string tension in this setup.

A little background info... I have a pretty heavy forehand and serve, but am not a string breaker. At the same time, I dont want to string it so high as to be tough on my arm. What do ya'll think?

Thank you very much for your interest!

I'd probably do 60 at least if not 63. I've only used the 16g Fibergel Power though, maybe the 17 has less oomph?

Thanx everybody so much for your feed back!

Kevo, your right, I spoke to the stringer today, and he said that the 17g did have alot less oomph, but maybe after I try the 17, ill give the 16 a shot at 60. Is that what you have on your setup?

Oh and Kevo, I know you use the head lm prestige mid, I wanted to thank you! You turned me on to that racquet, at first I was very hesitant with all the varying reviews. Now that I have it, I am hitting harder, faster, and more accurate than i have ever hit in my life, and my tennis partners all have commented on my increased skill level! I feel like I finnally found the racquet that perfectly complemented my game. Yes, there is a bit of a metallic sound when the ball strikes the racquet, but its just a sound. I only care about how i preform with the racquet. I didnt use natrural gut, because im a student (got no mulla), instead i strung it with 17g head fibergel power. Great string, durable, extremely comfortable, power packed, control oriented, easy access to spin, and low cost. No doubt it isn't natural gut, but it is a very good substitute.

Again, Kevo, thank you very much!

Well, I'm not sure how I turned you on to that racquet. I don't actually play with one. Maybe I mentioned something about a friend of mine who has an LM Prestige. I actually play with an RDX 500 mid, but I do think the LM Prestige is a decent stick. Glad you are doing well with it.

might of been, i just remeber a while back, that you defended it against the "i hate mid size people." I think thats why i might have tried it. Thanks anyway!

Yes, I do think mids can be really good for some people. I know I really like the RDX mid. Excellent precision and control. Never could paint lines with any other frame I tried like I can with this one. It's much more fun for me to play and make great shots and lose than to play and make average shots and win. Of course lately I've been winning a lot, but it took a while for me to start playing consistent with the mid, but I am enjoying the journey a lot.

Amen, I second that Kevo, its all about the journey!

Kevo and others... I value your opinion... do you think I should use 16 or 17 guage w/ head fibergel power in my lm prestige mid, and at what tension?

Thanks everyone!

I'd try the 16g first. It seems to play a little thinner than most 16s. As for tension, it plays soft and powerful, so you might want to up it a couple of pounds from normal.
