Tecnifibre X-ONE 17g Fraying, Poor QC ?

Started using Tecnifibre X-ONE BIPHASE 17g several months ago but suddenly, within 3 weeks or so, they are beginning to fray and they don't last as long as a month . Used GAMMA Live Wire Pro 17g previously and they lasted much longer.

Have seen other related thread's on the short life span of this string but thought they were an aberration, but now maybe this is norm. I can’t afford to re-string every 3-4 weeks. Any feedback on similar experiences will be appreciated.

16g frays just as much. I break 16g in 10 hours as crosses and about 6 as mids. I find it plays VERY well for an hour, then kinda bleh, then great after its frayed a bit. So there is like a 2-3 hour bleh period. I actually LIKE when it starts to fray as I gain more spin a a little more control.

I used natty gut years ago (still do in crosses) and it fays the same way, so im ok with it.

Hi recreationalplayer :)

I played with the 16g TF x1 for about a year. If memory serves me correctly, I'd get a week or two at the most before breaking. I was playing 4 times per week, two hour sessions. So that's 8-16 hours. It's in no way a durable string. I have no idea how often you play, but I'm amazed your 17g is lasting you three weeks. If you are looking for something more durable, I'd reco Head Rip Control 16. Not quite as comfy in my estimation, but very good control and spin friendly. That string has many fans here. I play twice a week now and it takes me several months to break em.

When talking about string durability, the best thing you can do is talking about hitting hours....weeks or months don't tell me much about durability in a string
I break X-1 17g at 13 hours mark
