Tennis ball travel alert for Mexico

Perhaps this is old news, but my latest trip to Puerto Vallarta finds that the cost of tennis balls has skyrocketed. Three years ago when I last visited, I went to WalMart to purchase tennis balls and found they were about $4 US/can. Strangely, I went yesterday and they were 180 ($12.50 US) pesos at WM for a can of Wilson premium balls, while at the Canto del Sol tennis club they were selling for 200 pesos/can ($13-14 US). One of the locals said they usually buy new tennis balls on Amazon. Too bad, as I left all my fresh cans at home this trip...

So, have tennis ball prices in Mexico escalated over the past few years? Or have they always seemed high compared to US prices? Tennis balls in Colorado are almost the only commodity that haven't seemed to jump in price over the past five years.
