So Tennis Nerd's new idea is just him scrolling through the tennis warehouse website...
So what should he do, your ideas please? When you're a 'Youtuber', the pressure to constantly come up with new videos, new ideas, new content is immense. I subscribe to a few channels, not just tennis ones, and the people who do these videos comment on sometimes it can be difficult to think up new things. All the time they're being bashed in the comments by keyboard critics.
I'll look forward to your Youtube channel starting up and all your original content, day in day out, week in week out, 52 weeks of the year . . . . .

I think he should probably just quit. How much can we discuss racquets?

Even on these geek infested boards, a lot of people say racquet line ups are confusing. Along those lines, going through each manufacturer’s offerings with brief, comparative explanations seems like a direct response to feedback. TW has been doing more of that, too, in their own videos.

Sorry but there actually is a moral dilemma in TennisNerd content : making profit with other's free knowledge without citing them.
I am not OK with that.
It doesn't complicate your content to just cite your sources.

Nerd is a great option for people who don’t have the patience to sift through all the information on these forums.

Considering he recently became a TW affiliate, don't you think it is possible that TW asked him to do this? For those who think he is out of ideas, I have access to his Patreon page (a friend of mine is a patron), and he is for sure not out of ideas. He just doesn't have enough court time to test and film them yet (just saw a very interesting racquet that would definitely spark discussion here).

TW does not ask their affiliates to do anything. All the affiliates do is review racquets they have interest in and add the affiliate link.

On his website he cites this forum quite often. He gives thanks to Dr325i mainly for his knowledge on Head racquets.
It's very recent, and it's far from often.
Most of the time you could see a clear copy/paste in his content, and never citing his sources. Like new thread bumps here, about a new face and a new racquet, experts reveal what it is, and within a week tennis nerd pops a new vid with everything copied. He has done it for ages, until recently because some pissed-off people told him directly he should cite his sources.

I see I'm getting some push-back for criticising the guy for literally filming himself scrolling tennis warehouse website saying 'this racquet is powerful' 'that racquet is less powerful'. Jesus Christ.

Yeah it is only in recent times that he has given credit where it's due, because he was under pressure from posters on his social media accounts about copying content from here. It was obvious what he was / is doing.

I know people who have blocked him, so he does not steal their data from posts. That is how he got to internet fame unfortunately, but it all comes unstuck sooner or later. Some young punk will start copying his stuff lol

I don't see the problem copying, I see a problem making profit from a source that is not yours, not giving the source's poorest reward : recognition!

I lost trust to the most YouTube reviewers out there after the fiasco with latest Vcore line. That amazing racquet that shines and does most of the stuff well at 95 and 98inches. One of the c r apiest sticks i ve ever played with. I don’t blame the YouTubers for taking money under the table in order to promote stuff. I just call them bad at what they are doing.... they just don’t get it. To be fair TennisNerd is the best among those youtubers that criticise sticks from a more generic point of view. He is spot on and pretty much gets it right. You have to consider that he is more into heavier frames in terms of static weight and classic feel.... he also has a sensitive elbow so he prefers and uses softer polys. If you consider his personal taste he is pretty good from a general point of view.

I follow pretty much every YouTube reviewer out there. If i want a more in death review my favourite is AC Tennis:

-Another great reviewer is Tennis Family and the french guy team tennis.
-As for tennis lessons ONLY feel tennis instruction.
-For shoes: foot doctor
-For written reviews: the bros brothers and tennis taste.

All the youtubers copy terminology and info from here, you can just see it, there aren't many original ones apart from fukky lafino unless you understand Japanese, the French guy is great, and the foot doctor is awesome

I won’t hear a bad word about him. Great guy. I have hit with him a couple of times. He loves gear and tennis in general and is just trying to provide info. As someone correctly said above, having reviews in one central location, instead of scrolling through some of the dubious stuff you can find here, is useful to many people. He certainly doesn’t depend on this for a living. Take it or leave it I suggest and unless you are out there also putting your play and thoughts in front of people and opening yourself up to the internet and everything that comes with it, be glad someone is doing it and live and let live.

I like Tennis Family. He gives sensible reviews and will say if a racquet doesn't suit him at all. Also his favourite racquet is one that is not trendy (DunlopCX200Tour) which makes me think he actually has his own opinions.
I do like intuitive tennis too, I like that he believes that you shouldn't obsess over tiny technique details.
Foot doctor is great but his Vapor Pro playtest review that just came out does feel more like an advert that some of his previous reviews.

Yeah I linked someone looking at gear to TN's Yonex video to show the differences between Vcore and Vcore Pro.

I'd rather link a source like him with actual experience playing the lines rather than what the marketing says.

He has a STATED relationship/sponsorship with Tennis Warehouse. Using the links to TW in the description gives him a small kickback. Do people even watch the videos they criticize?

maybe the OP "cortado" is actually tennisnerd
he just wanted more clicks!
he wins!

if it's not actually the nerd,
then "cortado" should consider a snickers, then everything in the world will be OK

If people on these or any other boards are that concerned with credit (and accountability) they should use their real names. Criticizing someone for not citing a source who chooses to remain anonymous is absurd.

Whats equally absurd is you missed where it was mentioned here that TN DOES now acknowledge some posters here by their screen names.

Hey, I’m a TN fan, not the one complaining about him. I didn’t miss anything. He has for a long time referenced message boards and the like even before giving specific screen names. I don’t think him citing screen names is even necessary. My point is that screen names function to maintain anonymity, so complaining that “anonymous” wasn’t given proper credit is silly. Besides all that, I’ve seen lots of people recycle information on these boards to the point that the original source was lost years ago. Much of it falls into a general knowledge category or is subjective anyway.

The only thing I don’t like about him is he’ll put out a review when a racquet first comes out and his opinion changes based on the popular opinion of others. He didn’t mention the comfort of the ezone tour until after people complained about it.

The best thing about him is when he reviews older or discontinued racquets like the c10 or IG radical pro. The other Utubers won’t do this. He even reviewed the entire six one line after it had been discontinued.

Can somebody get TN to do gut poly!

That's what the top players are using these days and none of the YouTube "experts" even comment on it. Just doing crap full poly @ 55 and saying the "frame hurts the arm"

I enjoy his videos and having a go and wish him continued success,
It’s also good to see other tennis gear you tubers releasing and producing content. Happy to watch them.

Perhaps the discomfort from the EZT came later with more play ?

Yeah I like his content, can't hate on someone who shows his passion for things I also have a passion for.

The only thing I don't like about his videos is that I don't like watching his groundstrokes :D But that's of course just me thinking selfishly. It's just one of the thing's I love about Karue's videos in that I really like watching him hit his backhand and forehand especially.

Karue is a gift from the tennis gods.

I picked up IG Radical Pro on the back of his vid. Very happy with this stick.

He's improved a ton. Not bad to watch now, but his early videos were rough.

It's not really his level of play to be honest I guess it's just a personal thing. Like I'm not a fan of his loopy/loose style swing on the forehand and I hit a two-handed backhand so never really have as much interest in watching someone who hits with a one-handed one.
