Tennis Shoes For Running?

Does anyone here use tennis shoes for running? I am just curious because my varsity tennis team tryouts are coming, and everyday, especially during the tryouts, before we play we have to run 1-2 miles depending on the coach's mood. And I'm also looking for some tennis shoes, and so I am curious if there are any tennis shoes that are also really good for running.

pretty much all of them are good enough for running, for track and cros-country you don't use tennis shoes, but for tennis tryouts btennis shoes are fine. The vapor speeds are very good, and i believe they were designed after a track spike. The AMBF2s are also pretty good

i think if you're only doing 1-2 miles its ok...not to mention the fact that you're still a teenager...enjoy it while you can :-D

Why wear out nice tennis shoes like Barricades and Air Zooms running on dirt trails and street asphalt? I buy my son Nike air running shoes for running cause they have better shock absorption and for his tennis shoes to last longer on the court.

Don't do it -- one really shouldn't play tennis in running shoes (potential injury and you will irritate the people responsible for maintaining the surface of the courts), and one shouldn't run in tennis shoes (you may get hurt).

buy tennis shoes for playing tennis and buy running shoes for running...each shoe is made for something different...

For short distances, tennis shoes are adequate, but for any case where you will be regularly running a mile, running shoes must be bought. I recommend Asics, a favorite of many runners.

I totaly agree! I recently joined a junior tennis academy team in town. Becoz it was raining today we had to run about 10km in the rain and i was wearing my new barricade 3's. Even though the size and stuff is just right for me, i have blisters on the same part for each foot, partly because i hadnt broken them in.

Barricades are pretty heavy for tennis shoes (my opinion) so they put a lot of strain on your muscles around the legs! Next time it rains, I'm definately taking my running shoes!

No way... tennis shoes for playing tennis and running shoes for running. I prefer to spend a 70 bucks in a good pair of running shoes rather than pay 500 bucks to see a podiatrist:mrgreen:
