What is your typically string tension difference between winter and summer?

I live in ATL and began to drop tension in the winter and seemed like I could not drop enough (was at 57lbs with Pro Hurricane Tour 17G and ended up at 52lbs).
Now with the warm weather I seem like I can't get them tight enough (57 lbs and seems to loose). Just me ??? Curious about your winter to summer set-ups on string tension......Thanks.

I live in ATL too and have the same issue.

Best I found to do was string at the high end with a poly or stiff syn gut during summer months and string toward the middle with a soft multi or natural gut in the winter months.

***Edit.......Something else I thought of doing and haven't tried yet is to string my racquets in my garage. If you string them in the house (I string mine in my basement) at say 70 degrees when its cold outside the strings will tighten and when its warm they will loosen. But if you string them in the garage where the temperature is closer to the temperature you will be playing at they won't tighten or loosen up as much because there will be a smaller difference in temperature at which you strung them and at which you are playing. I wouldn't store the strings or racquet in the garage but I would put the strings and racquet in the garage a hour or two before stringing so they can warm or cool to the ambient temp and then string the racquet in the garage.......like I said....an idea I haven't tried yet.....

What is the point of changing them?

When it gets cold, things contract. When it gets hot things expand.

In the winter the strings get cold and contract and the effective tension is higher making the string feel very stiff and board-like.

In the summer the strings expand and the effective tension is lower resulting in more power and a loss of control.

Typically you lower your reference tension in the winter/cold months and raise it in the warmer/summer months to compensate for effect of temperature on feel/control.

I vary my string tension by having the strings a few pounds lower in the summer. During the winter, I play indoors and don't have to worry about weather conditions. I string it tight so that I can hit through the ball without hitting it long.

When I go outdoors for the summer, this tension doesn't work well. With the wind, I can't get the pace as I did inside. I drop the tension about 2 pounds to get more pop but I have to put more spin on the ball to keep it in.
