Very much agree with Tcbtennis (post 34) - didn't see the need to repeat the whole thing... again. GOOD stuff.
I got to watch Aggie from court-side some years back, perhaps in her first year or so on the tour, and her multidimensional ability was startling. Two US Opens ago, I got to watch Caroline from just off the court, too. Scary, next level, get the he!! outta my way talent at work. Don't poo-poo it if you haven't seen it up close, gang.
I think that the biggest embarrassment for the rest of the field, especially the howitzer queens, is that Aggie is winning without a game that's preoccupied with power - at the expense of a full skill set. When the bruisers have an off day and can't land their bullets, they have no plan B. Maria used a more-of-the-same attack using full guns against maybe Serena in an Aus. Open final a while back. She stuck with plan A and just kept on losing.
If the next generation of power mad WTA sluggers hope to evolve (and succeed), I'm convinced that they need to learn the sort of variety that Aggie puts on display in addition to a fundamental ability to smoke the ball.
