The reason why Djokovic's 5 Wimbledons + 1 final will always be greater than Federer's 8 Wimbledon's + 4 finals

Djokovic had to beat 15000 people to win the title (the other player + the whole of the crowd). Federer only had to beat 1 person (the other player).

2011 - Djokovic had to beat a pro-Nadal crowd
2013 - Djokovic had to beat a pro-Murray crowd (and unfortunately lost)
2014 - Djokovic had to beat a pro-Federer crowd
2015 - Djokovic had to beat another pro-Federer crowd
2018 - Djokovic had to beat a crowd that was heavily cheering on the underdog Anderson
2019 - Djokovic had to beat yet another pro-Federer crowd

Pretty much wherever he goes, he has to beat the other player AND the crowd. This is why his Wimbledon titles will always hold a greater significance than Federer's.

The Federer fans really annoyed me during the match. Now it's the Djokovic fans turn to annoy me after the match. Oh look at that, fanatics being annoying? What a surprise.

Utterly laughable premise. Nice to see there are some great posts from other Novak fans to balance out this kind of trolling nonsense

Please don't.

It's not trolling. He had to beat the crowd and the other player every time, and that is a huge achievement in itself.

In 2011 the crowd was pretty split and fair. I agree on the other ones. I disagree about 5 > 8 though.

After Novak wins his 8th Wimbledon title, we can speak about this against-the-crowd argument as one of the factors in comparing with Fed. Until then, dude just chill out.

Definately.

As a Rafan, i see Novak's achievement at Wimbledon is way more impressive than the fake 'king' of grass.

He beats every single top players in classic matches.

This is a very different than the 'weak era' from 2003-2007 when Federer seperated himself from the rest when both Rafa and Novak hadn't mastered their serves.

I see Novak ' king of grass' is more debatable but Federer? Now that's a good joke after last night loss! :-D Of course his 'Fednatic' fans will always use his age as an excuse after every losses.

Having fans is unfair.

They should enforce equal crowd representation, equal cheering time, equal cheering sound intensity levels, and equal pay.

It’s more like 5 for djokovic and 6 for fed. Take out his 2017 and 2003 titles for a clearly injured cilic and a weak opponent. The rest he played legit grass court competition. IMO there is a legitimate claim for Novak

Nothing changes the fact that Rafa was comprehensively beaten by Federer. Actually Fed saved Rafa from getting beaten to pulp today, like AO 19. Can't wait for Novak to overtake Rafa's18
He's always has a greater claim to GOAThood than Nadal ever did.
