Will never forget it. Awe inspiring.
- He came back from number 22 ranking spot. What makes it the greatest comeback in tennis history?
- He came back from number 22 ranking spot.
- He came back when Federer, and Nadal(despite the last 2 months), were playing blistering tennis, and showed them who is boss.
He was playing the tennis he knows, and has always known.Federer was playing blistering tennis in Cincy and Paris?
IMO great comeback, think Federer's was greater but it's understandable we'd each be backing our man in this.

Yes, whatever.Federer was garbage in Cincy, decent in Paris. Nothing more. Let's call a spade a spade
Djokovic beat a Rafa who was playing his best Wimbledon in years.....in one of the greatest matches Wimbledon has ever seen.Djokovic has had a fantastic run, no doubt! But Nadal has been injured most of that time, and Federer has been very far from blistering. Stan is out, Andy is out.
Federer came back from poor ranking and surgery to beat his nemesis in the epic NUFF SAID!!! final, then the sunshine double, Halle, Wimbledon, Shanghai... beating a better Rafa 4 times in a row...
Rafa came back from long break, reached lots of finals and would have swept the entire HC season if not for Federer, then Decima - which was outstanding in its own right - then USO...

I listed my reasons above.Yes, he did. And I agree, that was a super match that saved 2018
I am just not sure why his comeback is the greatest in tennis history.

Put it this way. In April, if anybody said that Djokovic would finish YE1, he would have been laughed at.
Not so with Rafa, or Roger, when Djokovic declined in 2017. People expected Rafa/Roger to take the top.
Djokovic's comeback, started with his match against Edmund at Wimby. That's why I created this thread. I would be hesitant to say, that it might have started to his finals appearance at Queens. But for me it was versus Edmund. Crowd against him. Umpire against him. The ROAR, was the beginning for me. When he beat Edmund I knew he was back, mentally.People expected Rafa to beat Roger easily in the AO final
Federer looked very finnish when he fell at Wimbledon, it was too symbolic to ignore
Federer was 35 when he made his comeback
It was more expected that Novak would make a huge comeback at 30/31. His comeback also started with very poor results, while Federer got right back into it after his break
I agree a Rafa comeback was expected, at least on clay
Without a sharp Federer, Nadal's 17 could have been one of the most dominant seasons in tennis history. Still did the amazing clay run, won USO and finalist at AO
I agree w this. What makes it the greatest comeback in tennis history?
I agree w this.
I guess the big 3 all had the greatest comeback in history now.
It’s just that it just happened to Novak so we should let them enjoy the moment.
Think about how awesome it must be to be a Novak fan right now.
Yeah, you totally saw this coming when he lost to Cecchinato on clay and to Cilic in Queens.Novak’s comeback was already on the cards given he made QF of FO, made SF of clay masters , had CP to win Queens .
Okay, okay Federer is the greatest, most beautiful, with greatest hair, most beautiful wife and greatest comeback...1.Djokovic was the youngest of the 3 while making the comeback
Fed was 35.5 -36 years old for his AO-IW-Miami-Halle-Wimb run and 36.5 years for his 17-0 start in 2018
2. Fed and Nadal had each other to contend all of 2017 while Novak had only Nadal at Wimb
Fed had to overcome the mental baggage of the 10-23 h2h
3. Fed faced 4 top 10 players at AO 17.
4, Fed won three 5 set matches at AO 17 making it epic
5. Nadal achieved the crazy 10th and 11th FO
6. Fed came back from a surgery while Novak came from a small procedure
7. Novak’s comeback was already on the cards given he made QF of FO, made SF of clay masters , had CP to win Queens . Fed was already down. Nadal was the only obstacle this year.
Yeah, you totally saw this coming when he lost to Cecchinato on clay and to Cilic in Queens.
Came here to read comments by Goat's fanbase ..
As usual they will try and discredit Novak's Comeback
Okay, okay Federer is the greatest, most beautiful, with greatest hair, most beautiful wife and greatest comeback...
Now can you leave this thread for Djokovic fans to have one place were can praise their man's comeback.
Okay, Federer comeback was greater. Move on...Suggesting it's the greatest comeback in tennis history is bound to cause some reactions
No one has said it wasn't a great comeback - just pointing out there were two very similar ones last season.
Yeah, you totally saw this coming when he lost to Cecchinato on clay and to Cilic in Queens.
But I thought you predict with your heart. What you want, not what you think!I do have a thread that said ‘Fed is the main threat for Djoker’ and pitched him as a favorite before Wimb 18
Want me to quote the thread ?
I remember that thread and said myself that his start of the season was too poor to accomplish that. Though I thought Nadal would not only play but even be decent in the post-USO season. The Djokovic fanbase here including Rf-22 was confident that Novak will end YE No 1 the moment he won Wimb.
I don’t need to quote the thread.
The thread here is silly to call Novak’s comeback the greatest
Okay, Federer comeback was greater. Move on...
But I thought you predict with your heart. What you want, not what you think!
Just move on from this thread junior and leave Djokovic fans to have their moment. There's plenty of threads around for you to spread your fanboyism.Don't try to be a saint, Django. It really doesn't suit you.
My posts were serious. I am praising all three comebacks, while you stand to your knees in sarcasm trying to cater to Djokovic fans egos. Sad strategy

Nope. I stick to my opinion wherever I'm posting. If I think Federer in 4 in GPPD, for sure I'm thinking the same in the other parts of this forum also. You can not differentiate match results thread from GPPD threads ?

Actually it's very funny thing. When you guys are being exposed and caught in your hypocrisy, usually you resort to excuses and logics very common for kids and young adolescents. LolFor most of us , GPPD is for thoughts and opinions and Match results are our wishes
Not sure how many more times this needs repeated
When a player is playing pretty good, his fan base is going to vote for him in a GS final most of the time. Masters are a different animal and any major surface disadvantages will cause a change in votes too. You can't expect for a Federer fan to go against him in a vote if he has made it to a GS final unless it's the FO or he got lucky on the way to the final.Actually it's very funny thing. Do you want me to quote all those pro match threads over the years were Djokovic or Nadal were the favourites in the polls against Fed.
