The Top 10 in 3 years time ?

It's like when a player tries to come back, and does, but it doesnt last.... I felt really bad for Roddick and liked him mor--- hated him less afterwards but since then he hasn't beat a Top 10 player.

Roddick beat Verdasco and Djokovic in Canada. Those are top 10's last time I checked.

Yes Roddick's play has slipped since Canada, but its hard to say hes been bad for 1/2 a year cause he only played 4 tournies since Canada.
Retired in 1, lost 1st round in 2 to guys he beat in weeks prior.

That being said, his play last fall was just as bad, and look how he started 09

djokovicgonzalez2010 my top ten in 3 years

1.Djokovic (As long he can be inform the whole year)
2.Murray (maybe sometimes he's on)
3.Del Potro (if he can play better on grass)
4.Cilic (does well on all surfaces)
5.Tsonga (maybe like Cilic does well on all surfaces)
6.Federer (If he can move around like now in 3 years)
7.Davydenko (like Federer if he can move good in 3 years)
8.Nadal(is my favorite player realasitc speaking though because of his knees I am very unsure though well have to wait and see.)
9.Verdasco (Because of him thinking instead of going for the winner off both sides)
10.Roddick (if can play this good and move this good like this year.)
50.gonzalezs (if he doe's not retire by then and plus I dont like him anyway.)

I like this one and think it's probably going to be pretty accurate (assuming Dasco gets his act together) other then my obvious problem with gonzalez, who, other than his seeming hatred of tennis:( there is no good reason wouldn't be in the Top 32 at least... but 1. nadal had better change his game plan if he wants to be playing in 3 years. 2. tsonga seems unlikely to get that much more mentally strong. 3. murray= same as tsonga

Top 4 in no order
Rafa, Djoker, Delpo, Murray

Rest of Top 10
Cilic, Tsonga, Monfils, Federer (if he is not retired), Thomas Belluci / gulbis,

some new player like Dmitrov, Harrison

djokogon2010 I agree about Rafael Nadal he needs in my opion he needs to be able to make his forehand more flatt. Also step up to the baseline to take it early at least every couple shots. What I meant to say if he can hit Every three shots flatt out either the forehand or backhand instead hitting every ball loppy.Because if he is on hardcourt and hits every ball loppy against like Delpotro or any of the other real tall players you know what is going to happen they will just crush the ball.So thats what I think about my favorite player.

cilic is my favorite but i dont know if he has the mental strength to be the best.

1.Djokovic(if he stays in form)
2.Cilic(if he gets mentally stronger)(plays well on all surfaces)
3.Del Potro(if he plays better on grass)
4.Murray (will never win a grand slam but plays well at the majors)
5.Tsonga (plays well on all surfaces)
6.Federer (will have physicall problems but he will stay at the top ten)
7.Söderling(if he stays focused)
8.Berdych(thats just a feeling)
9.Nadal( his time is nearly over)
10.Roddick (if he can move as well as this year)

1. roger federer-the king of kings aint going nowhere
2. rafa nadal-topspin is just too much for the one handed backhand players
3. andy murray-hes running marathons obviously the boy is in shape
4. wawrinka--big power from baseline-the serve is coming on
5. del potro-has one major add a couple of more
6. davydenko-hes too consistent
7. djokovic-i see him getting overpowered from the bigger hitters
8. verdasco--hes very fit and could end up winning the AO in 2010.
9. cilic--you saw what he could do hes getting a lot better
10.tsonga--taking a step back of his potential

Roddick- Maybe a bit of bias :-?
Nadal really is fading.
Davydenko is falling more slowly than Federer and look at this chart of play since USO

Player Davydenko Federer
Rafael Nadal W 6-1 7-6 (5) --- Havent played
Novak Djokovic W 4-6 6-4 7-6 (1)/ L 6-4 4-6 5-7 --- L 4-6 6-4 2-6
Andy Murray Havent played --- W 4-6 6-3 6-1
Juan Martin del Potro W 6-2 6-4 --- L 2-6 7-6 (5) 4-6
Nikolay Davydenko W vs. Fed 6-2 4-6 7-5 --- L 2-6 6-4 5-7
Andy Roddick Neither player has played
Robin Soderling W 1-6 7-6 (2) 6-2/ L 2-6 6-4 4-6/W 6-4 4-6 6-4--- HvntPld
Fernando Verdasco W 6-4 7-5 --- W 4-6 7-5 6-1
Jo- Wilfred Tsonga Neither player has played
Fernando Gonzalez W 6-4 7-5 --- Havent played

Wow. I didnt even get it was this amazing for DavyD until I made it...

ROFL at you basing everything on the last 6 months of play. Nadal has one bad season and suddenly his whole career is gone? Gonzalez and Stepanek on the list are jokes, in 3 yrs Gonzalez will be 32 . Even if Nadal only has 1 hip and 1 knee , he will still be handing Gonzo a nice thrashing (like he currently does)

Of course 2010 will be a good indicator of things to come. If Nadal does worse in 2010 then he did in 2009, your 'Nadal fading' theory might be true.

its just a prediction as you remember the media and various publications said that federer would slow down in 2009---well 4 slam finals appearances, world number 1 ranking, 2 major titles,ATP leader, and a few apologies later, that didnt happen to be the case.

For me :

1. Del Potro
2. Djokovic
3. Somebody curently outside the 100
4. Federer
5. Murray
6. Tsonga
7. Cilic
8. Soderling
9. Nadal
10. Roddick

How about you guys?

Yet more evidence how outrageously underrated Nadal is on Planet TW. Also how overrated Del Potro often was. Other than that ok predictions it turned out, except for the Cilic one, but I am sure everyone thought Cilic would be a top 10 player today back then.

Murray's slump was hitting #5, people predicted he'd be at his slump level in his prime?

This thread is pure class! It shows how hard it is to predict the future.

my personals faves:

I really doubt Federer will still be in the top 2 at 31 years of age. Fed's game is already declining somewhat, it's going to be much worse in 3 years.

Djokovic -- I don't see him winning Wimbledon or getting close,

Ferrer is not moving towards Top 10 territory.

Interesting that Cilic got so much love but Berdych and Ferrer didn't get much support.

And no way was Roddick sticking around at 30 years of age.

I see Fed finishing next year top 2-3, 2011 maybe 4-5 and in 2012 I think he will squezze out the last drop of genius to grab either Wimbledon or the Olympic Gold Medal in singles, but maybe ranked around 12-15 since the MS-tournaments is not gomma matter to him at all. (they havent for a couple of years)

This thread is hilarious. I particularly liked this one. He/she is a bit wrong on the ranking, but he/she wasn't far off with the Wimbledon/Olympic Gold prediction.
