Think I Am Dying-Light A Candle For Me

Pretty sure the end is near-had my earwax unblocked & there was no infection but I am still all over the pavement walking & I still have Photophobia & eye issues. Now my doctor phoned me yesterday evening to tell me the blood tests I had done yesterday morning showed a bile level of 55 & have previously shown raised levels the two years prior which nobody bothered to do anything about/inform me of, indicating I probably have Gallstones-which explains the nausea I have been having recently that I thought was to do with the balance/eye issues, said I was also showing for anemia. My body feels like it is under attack like when you get a virus/bug-pretty sure he is going to send me direct to hospital on Monday morning when I see him.

You need to stay strong. Everyone will have their own challenges and problems in life. This is yours. Don’t let it takeover by giving up.

I don’t think it’s life threatening. They’ll be able to sort out the high billirubin levels pretty quickly so your symptoms should subside. It’s the underlying cause that might take a while to diagnose. But once they do, hopefully they’ll be able to treat it.

have never heard of a bile level, maybe you need a new doctor. Bilirubin levels are measured and are normally around 1; 55 would be quite remarkable.

Cannot really remember what he said the test was-I had three vials taken-Gold, Purple & Grey. Just know he told me what bile does although I already know & said it points towards gallstones. He seemed surprised I wasn't in pain & said if things got bad over the weekend to dial 999 or go to A&E if I could make it there.

I seem to have had them since the day I was born, it is just one thing after another-I finally seemed to have my IBS under control recently, but it seems what works for me is likely what has caused this-large amounts of crisps. Combined with the watering eyes that don't focus-especially in the morning, the not being able to walk straight, dizziness etc I fear the worst.

no disrespect or trolling at all but if you seriously think you're dying go to the hospital right away emergency room instead of posting on internet.

Well, I don't think I am going to drop dead any second & I am not going to march into A&E at the busiest point of the week with all the drunks, drug addicts who have got themselves into dire straits through partying & wait around for 6 hours to get somebody to see me just because I have zero energy & feel crap & don't know exactly what test I had odd markers on & the NHS computers are rarely able to link up with each other to find out & the surgery doesn't open on weekends for anybody to contact them. I meant more weeks or months.

Better safe than sorry, you should go to an urgent care asap

Huh?? He's already under someone's care and spoke to the doctor yesterday (evidently misunderstanding what he was told about lab values). This is not an urgent matter.

"Doctor seemed surprised I wasn't in pain & said if things got bad over the weekend to dial 999 or go to A&E if I could make it there."

Things got bad. So it sounds like his Doctor is advising to go to ER. Or some level below ER (Non-life-threatening Urgent Care facility open on weekends).
Should not wait until Monday to see his Doctor.

Please don't. I am an atheist so believe that only science or the healing power of the body can save me. :)

Yes believe in science but now is the time to find your god !!! God tends to help those who accept and believe in him in mysterious ways and will give you extra inner strength

When they attempt diagnosis make sure(shs) you tell them about your TTW participation...those symptoms are quite similar to things I suffered from when I first went inside The Vortex.

Seriously, take care of yourself, get some professional help and try to keep a PMA through the adversities.

Bilirubin 55 is probably in μmol/L, which converts to 3.22 mg/dL. So that's a high level. This being said, it's still just a lab value. Whether OP should go to the ER or not depends on whether his symptoms got acutely worse and on the severity of his symptoms.

To be honest I was expecting him to say something else other than bile/gallstones/anemia, when he said there were no viruses in my body I was very surprised & being a pessimist by nature I am thinking of cancers, brain tumours etc. The doctor is also not 100% in English & speaks in a kind of drawl where it is hard to pick up everything he says.

He was referring to pain-of which I have had none, or what he might consider stomach pain I would likely consider discomfort having lived with IBS all my life etc. The nausea has gone way done since Friday when I laid off the crisps-even before he called me that evening, the huge problem for me at the moment is extreme tiredness-which again is something I have had for as long as I can remember-although not to this level aside from horrible bugs/viruses & I am thinking that may be due to the anemia.

I am not knocking your belief system, but for me the only guarantees is the sun rising & setting, that I need to breathe air, eat & drink to survive, bodily functions & I will become aroused once a day at least. The rest is down to science & chance.

Oh yes-Friday-Sunday the A&E is full of people who have collapsed due to alcohol & drug misuse, or got into fights due to booze, or people who have been attacked by them, on top of all the others. I remember having to go there once on a Sunday evening & having to wait about six hours to see somebody.

Almost certainly he will be sending me to hospital on Monday where they will do more thorough tests & scans, at the moment it is only suspected gallstones, they will need to confirm it. Looking around it seems they have a special test they do.

You say light a candle for you, which has religious connotations, then say you are atheist and don't pray for you. Which is it?

Sounds (no pun) like you need a ear, nose, throat specialist. Hope you feel better.

I was trying to bring humour to the situation, if people wish to pray they can, the response was just another attempt at humour-hence the smiley face in case anybody got offended. I don't see how this has anything to do with my ears, nose or throat-my ear canal was unblocked on Monday & other than getting my hearing back & being a bit better with the photophobia has made no other difference. This seems to be primarily a gasto issue-something which has blighted my life for decades.

Have you tried a probiotic like Align?

Hows your appetite? A friend of mine got his gall bladder removed and couldnt eat nearly as much as he used to.

Not great due to the nausea, eating less keeps it to mildish levels. Spending a lot of the days just drifting in & out of sleep. No interest in probiotics after trying Symprove & the horrible side effects that foul tasting, overpriced concoction gave me.

This is a pill, pretty cheap. Symprove looks really gross and expensive.

Have you tried smoking some weed? Does that help the stomach?

I detest the smell of dope, at the moment it isn't going to help my gut anyway because the bile is not doing its job properly in digesting food-so I am feeling nauseous & dry heaving at times. I couldn't take Align because it contains Gellan Gum which would cause even worse stomach issues for me-any sugar alcohol substitute causes huge issues for me due to fodmaps.

Make sure the doctor was trained at a good school
Too many folks think all doctors are alike and many are total morons who only got their degree through hard work and memorizing

Since I don't believe in the latter & believe the current life your destiny is mostly shaped due to family genetics/circumstances, the actions of others & dumb luck I will respectfully disagree. The threats of eternal damnation don't work on me. A woman my parents knew was a devout theist & went to a holy medical surgery who like preaching the gospel-got told her stomach issues were just indigestion, accepted it & eventually died of cancer because they didn't do any checks & all she did was accepted it & went to church every Sunday, so much for theism.

Make sure? You get what you get on the NHS, you don't get to pick & choose who treats you.

If that turns out to be true you have an opportunity to treat the gallstones before your body tries to pass them which is very painful.

perhaps you're thinking of kidney stones; it's not clear that one ever actually passes gallstones though there are some health faddists who actually promote diets they believe facilitate this.

Why can’t both the real world of science and god exist ??
God does not oversee how daily life goes about that is obvious; he is around through in odd ways
