I discovered this at a local store that carries the T22 in different colors. They come in 2 boxes: black or white. The black box on top says "Made in Cambodia". The white box in the bottom says "Made in China". They are the same model but the fit is very different. My guess is the different manufacturing locations use different lasts.

The Made in Cambodia shoe is more snug. The fit is similar to the old T10, which was considered a narrow shoe. It's perfect anyone with narrow to medium feet who typically like to wear Adidas or Nike. All the black boxes in the store had the most conservative color (White with Navy trim). My narrow feet are locked in with this shoe. I love this shoe.

The Made in China shoe is more loose fitting. It's better for people with large, wide feet. My feet move around in this shoe and the uppers crease when I lace them up. Most of the T22's in the store were from these white boxes, and they featured the more flashy colors like White in back and Black and Blue in front. White with Green trim was also available.

There you have it! Try it out yourself and let me know if you find the same thing.

Interesting. I actually have the black box for the shoe in white/navy and the white box for the black/blue versions we well. I haven't played with the white/navy ones yet, just walked around the house with them right after I got them to make sure they fit good. I have played a lot with the black/blue ones. I never really noticed this difference, but now after you post this, I just checked and you might be right. The ones made in China, do seem a bit wider/looser in the widest part of the foot. It could be that now that they are broken in well the difference is more pronounced than when they were both brand new. It's not a big deal for me as I prefer somewhat wider shoe, and the made in Cambodia ones appear to fit me well, just slightly more snug. But I assume for someone with more narrow feet, the made in China ones might end up being too wide.

Thanks for confirming my observations. My old Cambodian shoe didn't loosen that much after break in. After a year or so of wear, it's still much narrower than the Chinese version, which puzzled me until I tried out a new Cambodian shoe, which was narrow, and I noticed that the boxes were different. Then when I tried other Chinese shoes, it confirmed everything. You probably have a more normal foot than I do, so the difference isn't as important to you. For my narrow feet, it's the difference between being able to use it on the court and having to choose another model.

I think Prince should take advantage of this and label them Narrow and Wide. They might sell more shoes that way.

Really? I loved the old Prince T10 as someone with a narrow foot, and thought the T22 was too wide. Can anyone else corroborate? Too bad I don't like white and navy...maybe they make some of the other colors in Cambodia as well.

White and Navy looks a little flashier if you change the white laces to the spare blue ones that come in the box. I used to wear the T10 also. I like the Cambodian T22 even better. It has the same fit, has just as much support, but the ventilation and weight are better.

Most of my stuff is some assortment of black and gray, so the navy blue doesn't really go. But a greater concern is that when I send them in for warranty replacement, I won't have control of which shoes I get.

So is this just shabby quality control by Prince, such that they can't even assure that products are consistent when made in different locations, or is there any reason to believe they actually intended two model widths?

It's probably not intended because it's not stated on the boxes and none of the big retailers advertise the difference.

I've owned 4 pairs of Prince shoes: the T10, the Rebel, and I'm on my 2nd pair of Cambodian T22's. Except for the difference in width between the two facilities, I always found their quality control to be exceptional; better than the big name brands, Nike and Adidas.

I'm actually happy I discovered this. Most of their shoes now, including the Chinese version of the T22, are too wide for me, but the Cambodian version fits me fine.

Thanks Ramon! and great catch on the difference.

Just wanted to mention that I went back to the same store today. Most of the colors now are made in Cambodia. Looks like the T22 is becoming Prince's narrow shoe! Not to worry for those with wider feet, because most of their other shoes are wide.

Interesting, I tried the T22s and Warriors today... my thoughts were the T22s are wider in the toe and narrow in the heel, whereas the opposite for the Warriors.
The T22s were the real deal, but those two plastic bands that have on the side did it in for me, they create pain on the outside of both feet.

the inside label on the latest T22 is worn out so i cant tell where they were made, they are definitely less comfortable than the previous T22s I had. The plastic suuport hurts my foot a little bit.

Even the shoes in the Made in Cambodia box say Made in China in the underside of the tongue, so you can't tell that way. Maybe the fabric is from China but the shoe is assembled in Cambodia. If the color is conservative White/Navy, chances are good it's from Cambodia.
