Toni Nadal : "Rafa returned to his old personality , and he is ready for 2016"

After losing to someone like Berdych at the AO, he will return to his new personality pretty quick.

I decided to start a thread, because I feel that the question connects well with the very first several posts that I made, when I joined this forum.

They were about expectation that Nadal can be a great HC player, if he commits to this and can profit more from that than to stay with his grinding baseline style (though at the time I was reviewing his rivalry with Federer more like a "reaction-counter-reaction" affair).

We a kind of saw some of that in 2010 but he never went the full distance.

So I wonder what he brings to the table now (I am sceptical about going all the way, though. Too late for that now, although it sounds logical).

Nadal's old confident personality came from opponents choking. He takes comfort in knowing that he can just scowl or time waste and get a choke from almost any opponent. Then his level went to crap and no one was choking anymore. Not even after MTOs.

His old personality came back after receiving a few chokes at the end of last season. Once he stops receiving them it's game over again.

Yeah, plus the ATP slowed down all the courts around the world just for Rafa. And the draws are rigged so he gets a cupcake draw in every tournament. If his opponents don't choke, they all forget how to play and play worse against him than they've ever played against anyone. Surely you've figured that all out by now.

What will Nadal do, if suddenly Wimbledon and US Open become very fast again and carpet returns?

The AntiRafaBrigade is yet again showing off their amazing skills in making up stories about Rafa.

I think by personality, he means that Nadal's confidence on court has returned. He does look eager to take charge more, which is a good thing. When he gets too passive is when he get's burnt, however when he is the aggressor, he becomes everyone's worst nightmare.

I want to see the original words (I am good with basing the thread on what I thought to be the true statement but still) before I decide, whether there is anything to add to the OP.

I fully agree with your second sentence and have been consistent in my posts on the subject that Tio Toni has robbed us of even greater rivalry between Federer and Nadal, should he had not made him play his encompassing all surfaces defensive style.

Maybe I am in the minority of thinking that Nadal would have been able to change his style more depending on surface, without sacrificing much of his clay court dominance (at least a loss of a RG title and not so powerful grip on the clay court season would have been, IMO, acceptable tradeoff for better HC, indoor and grass achievements).

Rafa was looking like he was going to dominate HC when he was younger, when I first saw him come around. He was uber aggressive, flatter more penetrating forehand, close to the baseline. He was a true joy to watch, I actually regressed being his fan when his style started to become more defense orientated, because it felt like he went in a completely different direction. Now, I don't challenge that, he helped him become the legend he is, but I personally preferred the original Rafa.

This is what I have been about basically the whole time, ever since I saw him play.

I was thinking (when I saw the Original (as I would like to call him) Nadal) that this guy can do great things on HC, if he has the right guidance.

His encounter with Federer in Miami (actually both in two consecutive years) showed enormous potential that has been stifled by the tyranic uncle and forced sqealing into a travesty of a HC play for a supposed "benefit" of playing great on clay.

I believe that Nadal was capable of executing both, were he allowed to, but, allas, it was not ment to be.

That is why I made the thread: in the hope that he might finally go in this direction now, when his stupid uncle cannot lure him into believing that clay is his safe harbour.

By "ready for 2016," perhaps Uncle means that Nephew has prepared all of his concession speeches?

The draws were indeed rigged during 2008 to 2012, when Fed, Rafa and Nole were competitive at the top. Something like 17 out of 19 tier one events had the Fed-Nole semi finals. You almost never has the Fedal or Djokodal SFs because the power that be knows a Fedal final is the best final for comercial reasons.

Rafa will do fine, if everyone will leave him alone a little. I could see him being second or third if he has the heart to do it. These guys are megarich and sometimes just don't want to put out the effort. They're making so much in the top 20, that its easy to be complacent.

Maybe Nadal should copy Federer (just like he did in great many other things) in his development at an advanced tennis age?

Is that possible?

Yes, now Nadal will S&V and Sneak Attack By Rafa ('SABR') to win CYGS in 2018; CYGS 2017 if you count this AO as another moral slam win.

Your posts are stupid beyond belief.

And your mask doesn't fool anyone.

Now that you are reduced to your deserved position to root for a player that has discredited himself in every possible way and also is unable to beat the old man it comes as no surprise that you reverted to pure trolling.

But this is a serious question, so you have no place here, unless you want to comment on the changes that Rafito has to make to have a chance to extend his career.
