Top mens college players vs top womans pro players. Who would win?

If the three top rated mens college players in the USA played against the top three womans professional players, who would win the most games?

Could nationally ranked amateur men beat the best ladies in the world?

Sure this is all hypothetical but this thought just started swimming around my head.:shock:

the top 3 college men would dominate the top 3 woman. no questions asks. in fact I think a solid D1 player could beat the top three woman. woman's tennis is a joke. my eyes bleed when I watch it.

I regularly watch wakes tennis team play and I can say that our guy ranked in the 50's could beat most women on the pro tour.

do we need to do this again. most college palyers beat top women players. this seems to come up once a week and it turns into the tennis newbies think woman can compete with men and we have the same dumb argument over and over.

To a degree this will vary with the individual players' playing styles, but in general, most top college players can dominate women.

A friend of a friend of mine use to play for the Stanford men's tennis team. In the mid 90's he was able to hit and play with Graf when she was in town for the SF tourney. Needless to say, he was able to beat her pretty easily.

You've got to be kidding me. Henin wouldn't get games off Somdev on clay. Have you ever seen him play? He's way too fast and solid for her to hurt him in any way.

Are you kidding me? This guy beat Isner in the NCAA finals so pace on serve isn't a problem. In fact, her serve doesn't even come close. On clay, could he beat Henin? Again, you've got to be kidding me. Look at the type of game he plays.

i know a guy, ranked like 100 in itf juniors who had a hit with ivanovic during the aus open and they played 2 practice sets, and he won one.
i reckon top mens college players could beat most women pro players.

There are always 1 or 2 phenoms who can not only bagel female pros but also defeat male pros.

I had a friend in the early 90s who played #2 singles at UCLA. One day he was all elated to tell me that his buddy who plays at another college just entered a pro tournament and defeated Stefan Edberg.

mens tennis is ages ahead of womens, women are basically glorified ball machines, they dont know how to constract points, change spins, take pace of the ball, etc. even if they di the guys would still dominate them because they are guys, faster stronger, bigger guys hit a little heavier, a little harder, are a little faster, are in better shape, etc...all those little differences add up to a huge diffeence between men and womens tennis

lol. if i could win a set off ana ivanovic i think id be pretty happy though that guy i said is turning pro later this year. hes a freak. had a hit with him a few weeks ago when i went up to sydney, he just doesnt miss lol.
