Who do yall think the top recruit come next May be.

Razvan Grigorescu is a monster! Moved here from Romania. 140mph serve and a slice that is unbelievable to describe. He is solid on both sides and moves like a mad man on the court. He has been hard on the studies and missed some events, but check him out in Mid September for more results. Oh, one more thing. I am his coach, and EVERY University in the Country is interested in him.....every last school has called us....all of them. You all will hear of him soon, he's a great kid! Very respectful and extremely rooted. He's been a joy to have around.

lol....I am his coach. But here, he has beat 6 of the top 25 ITA players and I recently drove him up state to play the #1 16yr old in the country (Razvan was 17yrs old when they played in February)....and yes, he beat him 6-0, 6-0. When he was in Romania, he was the #1 in 14's, 16's and 18's. Also, was 1 of 3 Jr. Players to represent their country at the Olympic games. So Mr. Chris-swede...lol, I just say all this because I'd like for you and everyone else to take notice. And check back in 2 months, so you can see how he fairs against the U.S.'s best. He is a resident and has been granted access to National Tournaments. If you are in the Houston, Texas area let me know. Maybe you can come by and hit a little with us. Oh, and I say again...Razvan is a very humble kid. Very caring and extremely open to making new friends. He is here to live out his dream, with or without the support of people like you. But never the less, he is being recruited by every university in the country as he's been as high as #9 in the country. Maybe you will turn your TV on someday and catch him playing. Maybe you won't....but everyone here including himself are doing everything to make sure it happens.

He beat 6 of the top 25 ita players? Are you just making stuff up? Please provide a link to the draws and in which tournament he beat these players.
To me just looks like a kid that doesn't play much and his coach is hiding him from real competition.
Here's a novel thought, play a couple tournaments to find out if he's actually any good!

Well for the sake of information:
I've seen Ryan Storrie play (last year) back when he lived in California (since we played at the same courts.) He played one of my 5 star team mates and I honestly don't think he is good enough for pros, despite him being ranked #5 in the USA for the class of 2016. (Then again he could have been having a bad day)

But no doubt Fritz & Mmoh.

Anyone know anything about Zeke Clark out of Tulsa? The rumor is that he's committed to play for the Illini, but hasn't signed his LoT yet. He supposedly won't sign until November?

He can't sign until November anyways, since that is the early signing period, Illinois is also prohibited from announcing as well until after signing day and NLI is in hand. He can commit but it is up to Clark to make anything public

My son plays USTA TX. We have never seen Razvan play. We have heard he is good but no one here has seen him. I think his coach is doing a good job promoting him but we all would love to see his record in beating the top ITA players. I can't find anything. College coaches are confused as well. They all ask my son about him. They are interested but skeptical. Also, it appears he was on the list of the 2015 recruiting class until March or April when he dropped down to the class of 2016. I was told that NCAA rules mandated you finish HS in 4 years once you start and if you want to drop down a grade you have to do so before 9th grade. Does anyone know if this is true? It's very confusing. Oh, and everyone here in TX would love to see him compete! He pulled out of the Grand Slam at the last minute and people were disappointed.

True. But if you read the article that talks about the top Blue Chip players you will see differently. Oh, they are doing a cover story on him. When it's done I will post the link. Here is the link is spoke of earlier: http://www.tennisrecruiting.net/article.asp?id=2317
He's advertising on Craigslist in College Station to teach lessons for 30 bucks an hour, and he's representing that he's a professional player now, did he decide to skip college after all ?

Razvan just took out osu spencer papa in a 3rd set 6-4 3-6 1-0 I don't know the tiebreak score.

One of the first matches of the season and already number 1 at Nebraska Omaha

Edit: 6-4 3-6 10-1 was the score

Big win for the kid. Papa is at OU not Okie Lite. I did see that was Papa's second match of the day but still a good win. Papa has always had stamina issues.
youre right ou is what i meant.

he beat acu's number one 6-4 6-1, sheehy shouldnt be anyone that papa has issues with. Stamina shouldnt be an excuse at top 20 level, especially against 2 unranked guys

I agree it shouldn't be an issue but it has. Look at the number of matches he has lost in three in his career. Papa has a lot of talent but he has not always been in ideal condition. I am curious to see if he makes a big leap this year.

But to unranked freshman stamina shouldn't even be in question. Obviously Razvan had to be at his level to win the first set. Especially since Papa's 6-1 6-4 win over sheehy was the first match done after he won the first doubles match as well.

Edit: I think it might have been 2nd doubles he played in

When he was in high school final 2 years, he decided to train and rehab an injury that was making it uncomfortable for him to play his game. He did that. As for it being the 2nd match and stamina issues, I'll go with that, but I just wonder if anyone else outside the top 25 would have been able to do what was done on that evening.

Soon Razvan will get his due. When he was a Blue Chip rated player and #9 in the country, the jokes were "Coach is a great promoter" now he beats a former #1 Recruit in the country who has wins over top players, and it's "stamina issues" on his opponents part.

Let's see what I do to promote him even more while he's in college. Because he can't possibly be this good. No one is unless they play many tournaments and earn a ranking by the websites.

Oh and I have another player on the rise, but I will wait to post the name, until they appear as a Blue Chip player after only 5 tournaments.

Good day all, gray chat

Just out of curiosity, why did Razvan choose Omaha for his college tennis as opposed to a better program where he would be matched up against better players in practice and in matches. I frankly had forgotten about him until he beat Papa. Did he have other offers? Without a doubt he could contribute at power 5 schools.

Not sure if it's really self-promotion, "Coach Manny." But, cmon..kid is "going to maybe be on tv?" Laughable. Nice to win a a 10pt tb against a guy on the back end of doubleheader, after a match has been called, playing against a kid who apparently had the flu, and is also notorious for playing some matches with minimal effort. Sigsgaard was down match pt the day before against Sheehy from Abilene Christian and won in a 10pter after the match was called. Sometimes, guys who are way better don't care at that point. They should have some pride to not lose to an unranked player from an unranked team. Congrats for a great win. But, this kid's fall results were awful and I would be surprised to see him go .500 at 1 against the average/unranked bcs or midmajor teams on their schedule. Nothing against you mate, but hyping up a guy on a 10pter is a "sell" for me.

I know you're not kidding so I will reply. 1.) something clearly tells me you never played any sport at a high level, if you had then you would know better. If someone is sick and is playing an unranked player, something takes over and just does not allow you to let something happen that should not happen. 2.) weather it is back end or front end, a win is a win....if a win is ever a loss, then we are in trouble. The team should have assessed the situation and and sent out another player. And lasty, there are comments here and everyone seems to give Razvan his due, but for some reason you manage to find a loop hole in other to spin it fast enough to make it sound like there is reason to discredit a young man from a victory. Razvan is a freshman, and he beat a solid player. Then he beat another solid player from Nebraska, and now he beat a solid player from Iowa. I am curious to see what you will say when he is in the NCAA semifinals and he's facing a vet from Virginia....I hope to follow this thread with you. And just doing the math, in order for him to go under .500 this season he will have to go 9 - 11 in singles play. I can't imagine that happening but then again I have seen Razvan play his very best and feel it's possible because of seeing it happen. True I only received the kid at 16yrs of age and he was already pretty solid, but I would like to think that I played a part in his mastering the art of competition. I sure hope he does not do like Spencer and tank it when he becomes an upper class man against a freshman, because I will not discredit the other player, I will instead talk to him about his loss and how he could have avoided it, while giving all the credit to the other player who came out victorious. Great talk.

Deacbb......he had an offer from every school in the country, I will not name them all because I don't want to get anyone in trouble. And when I say "every school" that means any university with a formidable team. The difference is he is a Physics wiz kid from another planet and wanted the best fit for him. After looking at options like Harvard, Colombia and Cal.....making visits and then visiting Omaha, he decided to go to the place where he was going to be more involved on campus and have a chance to be on the lead research team for contract assignments and possibly lead to him being part of patents and innovations. Not all young adults make decisions based on what people think and what the status q may be. Some young men have parents who mentor them into greatness in many other ways. It just so happens that this young man (who scored a 2,280 on the SAT) decided to take an option that was better suited for him. Oh, and he knew absolutely no English when he was 15, by 16 he was communication responses and by 18 he was scoring high on the SAT and perfect 800 on Subject Test SAT MATH I & II, also perfect score on Physics Placement test. If it were any other kid, I'm sure he would be getting praised for this, but because guys like some of the other on here....its all about discrediting someone until they prove other wise. I will just keep him positive and moving forward. Good talk.

Never was hatin' on him BRAH! I just said be realistic. If he gets an AQ to the NCAA's, I'll give you a high five and say you are the man if he can win a round. If he wins two, I'll PayPal you money (not kidding either!), and if he's on TV as a top 100 pro, I'll find you someday and buy you a new car. Laughable that you also think that, "something takes over and just does not allow you to let something happen that should not happen." Bud, college guys tank all the time. They can be sick, hungover, get dumped by their gf...doesn't matter...and nothing takes over except their desire to get off the tennis court as quick as possible. Anyhow, I'm sure he is a good kid and best of luck to him. I'm an Omaha fan, since they may have helped Nebraska to get a new coach.
