Tsitsipas looks a champion elect

He has always had a weak return game. But past week or so he has played guys with bombs, and last night played a guy on fire for a set throwing down 130mph 2nd serves. Tsitsipas rode the wave and played the big points like a champion. He is hardly being mentioned. Most people say Medvedev the big danger. From what i am seeing Tsitispas will be very hard to stop. Even for the Great Djokovic.

He would have a chance based on his 2-2 hardcourt history vs. Djokovic alone. Probably loses in 4, but he does look threatening. Still will need to beat Sascha in the QF.

He played against a player with essentially college level groundstrokes. From what I've seen, Djokovic would beat him in 4 sets pretty easily.

He got beat by Milos. It was a close match, but that’s his level: 5-15. Not 1-3.

He is not the new king.

Well, they can play in the semis if everything goes as planned. I don't think Tstitsipas has the game to beat Djokovic over 5 sets, atleast yet. Biggest worry IMO for Djokovic is either Thiem or Medvedev. Both have the game to cause problems. But who knows, maybe Djokovic loses to Struff next. Lets go round by round.

Lol. What makes you so certain?

I do believe Stefanos is underestimated by many. He had a very strong fall season after USO. He also has wins vs. both Federer and Djokovic on hardcourt after dropping the opening set - he is more mentally resilient than other nextgen players like Zverev.
He's better than Djokovic.

It will be a good semi match for Djokovic.

But i don't think his game is complete yet.

He might take a set against Djokovic.

The real test for Djokovic will be if he faces RBA in the final.

Hopefully he faces another player in the final.

I've definitely seen a few Djokovic fans say they see him as a bigger threat than Medvedev.

Frankly, neither one of them has proven anything yet, so it's dealer's choice about who you want to view as the bigger threat. Let's see how their respective forms look after the first week at least, because both look good through 2 rounds, which tells us very little.

He played against an absolute nobody
Cressy is young and has moved up the rankings quickly. According to Cahill, Gilbert, and McEnroe, they think he will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Likely won't reach Djoker. Has never reached a SF.

But if he does, I could see it being a tough match that Djoker wins. Med is still the ONLY hope.

Have been saying this for a long time that Tsitsipas is the real deal. He is the only guy with the talent, dedication, hunger and mental strength to be a top guy. Him, and maybe Medvedev. That's about it from the Next Gen.

This didn't age well..

Hopefully this post of mine won't age well. Scars will be there for Tsitsipas but he is mentally strong and would come back stronger.

Not going to beat down on him too hard because out on the court pressure is immense and when the wheels start to come off boy can they come off. However this is where the greats don't fall so easily. They embrace the challenges. You could see the big 3 lose a break but not 2 and definitely not 3 because they regroup, forget and start again. Until players can embrace pressure they'll keep suffering like this in close matches.
