I think I've said this before but not sure.

Anywho a background check here.

Zverev is 1 year older than Tsitsipas and was the prodigal son finishing his age 18 season #24, then back to back #4.
Agassi was 1 year older than Sampras and finished his age 18 season #3 followed by #7 and #4 finishes.
Sampras was #81 going into his age 19 season then finished #5, Tsitsipas started last year ranked #91 and finished #15.

Agassi struggled in Slams making it further before Sampras won his maiden Slam quarter then semi then final at 19.

Agassi in his early days favoured clay and slow hard. Sound familiar?

There doesn't seem to be any other serious contenders for the moment so we look at these two being clear ahead.

Oh a bonus, Sampras was 1 hand backhand, Agassi was two like Tsitsipas vs. Zverev would be.

IMO it's not Zverev who will play the Agassi role, it's Coric

Sampras v Agassi
Federer v Nadal
Federer v Djokovic
Tsitisipas v Coric

I understand the spirit of the thread but just lol.

Really highlights how sucky the #NextGen is compared to actual ATG's.

Even mentioning this two guys in the same breath as Agassi or Sampras is a sin. Never mind that neither of their games remotely is as good or resembles either Pete or Andre's games.

Check back when poll closes in 2025. At least it's a 1 vs. 2 backhand scenario in terms of style and Zverev seems to be the better baseline player. So there are SOME similarities, plus with the field the way it is and homogenized surfaces both players can capture 10 Slams not being at the same skill level as Andre/Pete.

I'm sure they will both be good but not good enough to dominate the rest of the tour and only be involved in a two-horse GOTEra race.

You forgot to mention that like Sampras, Tsitsipas is Greek.

We'll see with FAA, this is his age 18 season and he certainly has the chance to finish quite high.

oh... and justin bieber is elvis REBORN ?
(i know i know... even for the letsgoyelling ziraffe, this is a low shot)

To compare Zverev with Agassi is already funny. Andre played his second slam final at the age of 20. Zverev has reached exactly one quarter with all the luck in the world defending match points against journeymen and getting destroyed in this quarter. The only thing Tsitsipas and Sampras have in common hs being both Greek. Apart from them being one year apart in terms of age I don’t see any similarity in those two rivalries.

Tsitsipas has some similarities with Sampras but no way Zverev looks like Agassi. Maybe like Safin if we have to choose one but less talented for sure.

I don't think it's going to be the rivalry of the years to come even even if both will probably contend for GS. I see more Shapovalov and FAA in the equation.

Coric lacks talent to play the "Agassi role". De Miñaur too. We will have to wait to see an aggresive baseliner similar to Agassi.
