The pro shop at my club has had them for a week and haven't sold a pair yet.

Face it, that whole overlay plastic bonded to the upper thing is pretty done and dusted - it looks terrible... and they somehow made it even worse by adding writing on it. At least Nike has the foresight to make shoes looks good for casual use and offer a range of plain colourways to compliment the more oddball ones like the FO colourway.
The fact that you use one of the most hideous tennis designs ever created as your avatar tells me all I need to know about your taste. And the fact that your pro shop hasn't sold any yet tells us...what, exactly? Have you asked the pro shop how business is lately? How many pairs of new shoes they sell in a normal week? I really don't understand your point here. adidas is a European company; the aesthetics they lean toward are not the same as your beloved Nike's all-American look. And thank goodess for that! Do you want all the brands to look the same? Gadzooks, you just don't get it, do you? adidas has several ranges, and each is geared toward a certain kind of person. If you want bold colors and styles, you buy adizero. If you want traditional, you buy adipure or maybe Response. If you're in between, you buy Barricade. The fact that you're coming to all these absurd conclusions based on one pair of shoes you don't happen to like is comical. You don't like them? DON'T BUY THEM. Simple. Go buy all the overpriced, overhyped, everybody-wears-it Nike garbage you want. Revel in their "foresight" as you wear your "plain colourways" with your Bermuda shorts at the bowling alley. You'll look just like Federer does when he's doing laundry, I'm sure.

These are so getting ordered if Chris has a positive review.

HA! I never pay attention to Chris' review. I have 5 pair's of Adi0's and CC Feathers and have been satisfied by their performance/weight/ventilation and price point. So these will do just fine by the low profile, aesthetics, and ventilation.

The shoes are alot more flexible in the uppers than the previous versions. The addition of the heel cup makes for a sturdy feel around the ankle but there isn't too much stiffer material on the sides which could affect lateral stability (could be wrong). Haven't actually put a pair on my feet yet, will hopefully today

I have some Adizero ace's in Green that I really like, so I can't envision the feathers being being bad for my feet. That being said, I did notice in the feedback section some people complained about hitting the small toe because of the narrow width. If just a smidge taller, they could be perfect. I like ventilation, and that's why I don't use barricades. Love the Competition Response from last year for that very reason; wish they made that shoe a permanent member of the lineup.

^^^I have a mod wide foot and have that issue as well. So, I go up a half size and w/the soft sole orthotic, I'm good.

That cheap plastic thing you like to point out is the sprint web, which adidas has been using extensively in their other footwear lines (first time for tennis). It's supposed to give a light but stable frame for the forefoot and works well with the sprintframe at the heel.

Not saying that these things work, but they're not there just for looks.

I will say that for basketball, the sprintframe+sprintweb combo really works. See the Crazy light 1 and 2, Adizero Rose 2, 2.5

No way, Gasolina. If Nike doesn't do it, it's rubbish. ;)

He is Nike man, deal with it,:)

But these shoes are really ugly, uglier than the Nikes ones that by no means are better than Adidas, I also agree with you that Nike is low quality, I don't know if the pros get the same material, but the ones I see on a Pro Shop are definitely low quality.

I don't know exactly what you guys expect from BOTH companies. I'm a ho to both brands, but honestly, adidas gives more bang for the buck than swoosh. As far as asethetics, opnions are like @sswholes, everyone has one.

Edit: The shoes I was thinking of aren't the same as the ones coming out soon (they won't be here til next year )

I wonder if this has anything to do with my Adidas running shoes with sprintweb are the worst, flimsy running shoes I've owned. After only 3 months they're almost unusable - you can't lace them tight enough anymore because they've stretched so much through the forefoot. Usually I get a year out of my runners.

Hope it's not an indication of anything on the tennis shoes using similar tech.

Here's the thing... Why not get your real size? I've never heard of a runner who buys shoes that fit so snug that the forefoot expands. Most runners like that extra space in there to prevent jamming the toecap because of all that forward motion.

And how convenient for you to take a shot of performance when you didnt even know what those bonded plastic things were until this morning. In fact, you didnt mention anything on the forefoot expanding up until now, you just kept calling them ugly.

Coz you know, if you did own those adizero sonic shoes with the sprintweb, which looks exactly the same as the sprintweb in the feather, then you could have easily pointed that "flaw" in those plastic bonded things, quite earlier in the thread.

Just sayin

I said nothing about Nike quality. I think Nike stuff is overpriced, but I don't buy Nike; I can't address the quality of their products. I happen to think the new Feathers look fantastic; I will definitely buy them.

They're not selling the all white feathers... are they? Didn't see them in the catalogue

What colors are coming out later? Love the lime/blue ones and will probably buy those. But if they came out with some orange based ones or gray based ones, those'd be really tempting.

These are all for the year

G62884 Metallic Silver | Black | Infrared 07 | 01 | 12
V21125 Running White | Dark Blue | Infrared 07 | 01 | 12
V21124 Dark Blue | Running White | Lab Lime 07 | 01 | 12

Disappointed we didn't get the all whites. Especially since we get them for the Barricades

I know how to buy running shoes. I have run 3-4 times a week for 20 years.

They're rubbish for running shoes (the runners that is) unless you want something for competition which lasts only a couple of times. They fitted perfectly for a few weeks and then just let go and got loosey-goosey. It's nothing to do with the wear, I have other running shoes which have 2 year old shoes with completely worn-out soles which still fit better. If the tennis version is similar they'll be worse - so I hope they beefed it up a whole heap for them. Regardless, ugly imo.

That's probably because I try not to pay much attention to p.o.s. design details. And your attempts at some sort of deduction based on my past posts on the topic which lead you to basically claim I don't own a pair just shows what a wad you are, not that I somehow had some cunning idea to mislead people here for some pointless reason. I have nothing to prove to you. Question should be: have you owned a pair of shoes with sprintweb? If yes, put your case forward. If not, hold off making comment until you have.

Regardless, the sprintweb doesn't look exactly the same on the runners to me.
