Sign up to play the pro. If you beat him, there is no fee. I did it. It was very fun.
But if you lose, it's at least a $55 spanking. I almost did that at a Ritz Carlton in Florida once, but I knew the pro was a former top college player.
I just want to play Granitechief in Palm Springs someday, and see if I'm really a 4.5. (Sorry, Chief---I'll be hitting on the clay at Hilton Head, S.C. during Indian Wells next month....)

If you lost, it could be a very valuable lesson at normal private lesson price, so its a bit of a win/win.

If the price is not outrageous, I will most likely do this. Even if I get double bagled, it would be a fun thing to do once. Maybe I should take the pro out for beers and schedule the match early the next morning.
I really thought hard about challenging that pro at Amelia Island, but then he was used to playing on clay, and I wasn't. I'm sure he would of given me some free points just to make it interesting, but instead, I beat up on some 3.5 player that week, which wasn't that interesting....
