Got the same email but did not come to the same conclusion as Fearless. This is part of their end of season sale.

OP....

if a store is going out of business, in most states, they have have to register with the state... no one store can make the same claim over and over in order to advertise a sale.... a storemust close to have this kind of sale. if you are still not sure, check with your state;)

You must sign up on our mailing list in order to get these promotional emails even if you are a previous customer. If you have already registered it is possible the email was blocked due to a spam filter.

ok, but usually a customer gets to receive info mailling without opt in. if that is not the case and tw policy is not opt out, i apologise to tw for the devil smiley...

The furniture stores kept doing that, and that caused the laws to be passed. I don't know how many times over the years I have driven past the same furniture stores advertising a going out of business sale.

OK...let's see how I did with my thread here...and what have we learned here.

If one is already aware of TWs "liquidation", then the email offer will of course not be ambiguos (imagine that!). Does this imply that the next time I get any promotional offers from any vendor indicating "everything in liquidation", I should first check with the business to see if they have a liquidation section?

Better yet, I should spend some time and research the issue with a state agency instead of simply ask the vendor directly!?

Sorry guys, I did the right thing by posting my question here (knowing some of you spend too much time lurking around forums!). It took only about 30 seconds to open the thread and perhaps about the same amount of time for someone to answer accurately and on the first reply too.
