Updated to K Factor 6.1s...help :(

I've played with Hyper Pro Staff 6.1s (the red ones) for several years, and loved them but figured it was finally time to update. So I ordered some K Factor 6.1s thinking I would get more or less the same racket...but man was I wrong.

TW has the swingweight of these rackets listed at 340, but it simply isn't accurate. They swing much much much lighter than the Hyper Carbon version. So much lighter that I'm having a difficult time not swinging early on every shot. The rackets don't feel nearly as solid at the net, especially on low digs / half-volleys. They feel floppy and unstable. I'm terribly disappointed after spending a couple hundred bucks. :(

I've never custom weighted a racket before. But at this point I'm desperate. If anyone has experienced the same (or a similar) problem and has any advice on how to make these rackets play more like the Hyper PS 6.1s I would greatly appreciate it. For example, where should I put lead tape? 3 and 9 o'clock? or more toward the top of the frame?

I owned the hps 95 for a while n it is a really nice stick but horribly stiff. The Ks r nice dun play as solid.

Also cus Wilson has rather bad qc one stick may b have different balance n weight from each other.

Try this first get some strips of 1/4 inch lead n cut 4 pieces of 4" n stick it at the 3 & 9 o'clock it not enuff another get another 4 pieces of 2" strips to 12 o'clock
Make sure u leave a gap between the middle strings at the top cus a stringing machine will have a clamp there

All Wilson Tour 90's play more or less the same, so maybe I can offer some insights.

I tried the k90 before I decided on the blx90. I like the stock balance of these Tour 90's, so I tried to maintain that aspect of the frame as much as possible while modding.

I added lead to 3, 9, and 12 o'clock of the frame. And I balanced that with keeping the stock leather, and I use two overgrips. I use two overgrips because I'm slightly bigger than a 3/8 but not quite a 1/2. Also, the two overgrips apparently weigh the same as the amount of lead I added to the head, because I have the stock balance. With a little luck on my side, it works out perfect for me. :)

So,

I have lead running from the 5th cross to the 16th cross at 3 and 9 o'clock. So about ~6.5inches of lead?
I have lead running (starting from the middle), 5th main to the other 5th main at 12 o'clock. So about ~5.5inches of lead?
Two overgrips, Tournagrip + Wilson Pro Overgrip.

You can see the final weight and the calculated swingweight based on TW's calculator in my signature. If you want to concentrate your effort on increasing the swingweight, load up at 12 o'clock, and let physics take over.

Hope this helped!

Also, the not-so-solid feeling at the net maybe due to the inherit buzziness of the k90? By no means is it a bad volley frame. But the frame itself gives off a crisp/stiff/buzz/ sensation. Which is why I went with the blx90 instead. I like my frames pillowy-soft.

Thanks a bunch for the detailed response.

Basically I'm just used to the awesome plow of the HPS 6.1s compared to the K-factor 6.1. I find myself feeling like I want to "arm" my shots more because the mass just isn't there.
