yes. USTA and non nadal/gonzo fans really lucked out and nadal saved the tournament by taking care of business in 3. Everyone should go thank nadal on his facebook page.
Nadal is not bigger than the game of tennis. Same goes for Federer as well. Really reading this thread makes me wonder are these really fans of tennis or just blind ****s who follow tennis due to one player only.

Open tournament director Jim Curley said earlier in the day that the weather forecast has given the U.S.T.A. hope that more matches will be played today, despite the rain that started again shortly after the men’s quarterfinal between Rafael Nadal and Fernando Gonzalez finished.

Curley did acknowledge the tournament’s good fortune that Nadal and Gonzalez finished their match before the rain started. Nadal finished out the resumed match, leading 3-2 in the second set tiebreaker, in less than 33 minutes. The men’s doubles finalists had barely gotten on the court for warmups following them when play had to be suspended.

“I have to admit I’m very pleased that that match is finished,” Curley said.

I guess the US Open tournament director is a *******.

But seriously, everyone should be happy that the Nadal-Gonzalez match was done and dusted as quick as possible (10 minutes more and it would be delayed - potentially messing up the men's tournament even more!)
