Vantage, which one to try next?

62 year old aggressive, solid 3.5 USTA

After being a Head guy for 30 years I pick up the famous Wilson 6.1 tour and loved it. Free with the racquet came my first tennis elbow gift. Two months of rehab (I kept playing with it) and I decided to demo about twenty racquets and settled on technifibre 320 VO max. Been using those two and had ordered a Vantage 95 70RA, 12 points light. Just started playing with it and cant put it down. I love control as you can see by the racquets I use. I also like head light. Although I usually use about 20 grams of lead tape on my racquets, ten in the handle and 10 at 6 and 9, I have not put any lead on the Vantage for some reason. In the vantage line what to try next?

The vaantage 95's seem better as a 63 imho, they are comming out with a new range with a softer RA more recoil i think, might be worth a look.

from the history of your te suggest try the 95 with the same set up just change the stiffness to 63 ra. i did not feel much difference and stuck with the 63. if you found a stick "i cant put down" pick the 70 or 63 version. why keep searching much longer???
i demoed racquets for 2 years searching for that holy grail found vantage and love it. could have kept searching if there was "better "out there but told myself i need to pick a racquet and play and practice and get the racquet out of the equation.

You are the quintessential player on this board, and what keeps tennis retailers in business. You picked up a racquet, can't put it down, apparently loved it, offer no criticisms of it, and wonder WHAT TO TRY NEXT.

Ah, but my friend you missed the point! The question is what other Advantage to try before I commit my $500 so I can have 3!

BTW: Try not to use such big words with a 3.5 player. We are sensitive!

I picked up a Vantage (almost identical specs to my prestige mid except 1/2 oz lighter) to use just for doubles, played with it a half dozen times and it gave me a year long case of the elbow. Beautiful frame, i think I paid someone to take it off my hands...

That's what I thought. I've got two 95s and they are the most dampened and comfy frames I've used. I'm actually sure a racquet can give you TE (unless it's some joke Walmart effort perhaps), it's how you play with it and how it suits your style. If you grip too hard and don't stay relaxed you'll have problems, some frames may make this more or less likely for some more than others.

Hard to generalise.

What's the difference between the 95 and 100 vantage with 16 x 19 and 63 ra??
Do you really notice the difference in headsize and spinproduction??

How flexy is the 63 compared to the Fischer pro #1 red/black/white and/or RDX500 mp or AG100?

I'd say my 63 RA Vts (strung with soft poly btw) are around similar flex to old Kafelnikov Fischer Pro No.1's (I've played the 320 and 330, though more the 320g)... a bit flexier than the AG100 mid... probably a good bit less flexy than the RDX (I say 'probably' because I've never played it)... put it this way: it's a lot less flexy than the RD7, if that's any help... Mans... just think 'crisp with soft undertones'... that's how I'd describe the feel.

Ive recently been having some arm pain but im sure its the rotator cuff so probably not caused by the racket. Since i have had them (almost 2 years i think) i havent had a single problem and im stringing with poly at around 63 lbs! Looking to pick up some demo's if they still do them with a 90" head.

So with a soft string it'd prob be real nice! No harsh vibrations?

No arm problem at 70RA 95, at 56 lbs. Going to try the 35lb with poly and maybe 50lb with natural gut.

I just went to 50 lbs with Gacho gut 16 awaiting my second Vantage so I can try the 35LB with Poly. Couldn't stand it. restrung with synthetic 18 at 52 and it is fine,I hated poly at 55 so we will see.

70RA on 95" frame seems stiffer than it is on 90" frame to me for some reason. Has anyone felt the same? I think I'll like the 63RA on my 95" frame. I have one 63RA coming so I'll find out soon.

Actually, I played 95/63 for a few years, very good racquet!
Than i switched to 90/70, which I prefer more, since I was always using 90 frame before the Vantage. The 90 is more solid feel, one of the best I had, old school racquet. Only one problem, I strung the poly way too high for this frame (61) and I can "feel it" - elbow. IMO, the 63 is more "safe".

I am trying to find a 90-63 or 70 and a 95/63 , 41/2 on the boards but they seem to be somewhat rare. I am using my 95/70 with 18 gauge synthetic and waiting on my second 95/70 from Vantage so I can try 35lbs with poly. If anyone knows where I can buy a used one let me know.
